Hello, friends.
In December 2021, I walked around the city of Gvardeysk in the Kaliningrad region. On the very outskirts of the city I came across this mural.
It shows the Deima River and Tapiau Castle on the opposite bank.
The city of Gvardeysk, and until 1946 it was called Tapiau, owes its origin to the knightly castle of the Teutonic Order. In the 13th century, these lands were captured by the Teutons. To hold the conquered lands, a wooden fortress was built in 1265, and in the middle of the 14th century, a stone castle was erected in its place. The town of Tapiau arose under the protection of this castle.
Street in Gvardeysk. The city has many beautiful and interesting buildings, but the streets are very narrow, and the houses are located close to each other and it is very difficult to photograph them.
Church, built in 1694.
