Art or Act of Vandalism? Banksy, if reading this, come vandalize mine!

in #hive-1847849 days ago

When it's all about Graffiti, the line between a piece of graffiti being Art or an Act of Vandalism is fine.

That line is distinguishable, though.

It's a simple difference, though. If the owner of the wall invites the artist to paint on that, it's not a vandalism, right? ;)

However, it appears it could be both, as I guess nobody considers Banksy's works as vandalism. That's just because of fame and money, I guess. Anyway.

Here are three pieces that has that side of vandalism, as I found them on the walls of big residential buildings in Varna, Bulgaria and I am 100% sure the people living there haven't been asked for permission.

The first image of that post is my entry to CCC's Street Art Contest #227 by @digi-me, thank you! :)

Yes, it's hard to tell the difference between vandalism and art sometimes. But if a work of art enhances the neighbourhood, even if the owner didn't intend it to, that can be a good thing. A bit of colour can't do any harm, as in your second photo. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great day

Of course, that's precise. Reflecting more on that, I suppose there will always be the two sides of it, as art is 100% subjective, for one observer it's gold, for another... it's crap.
Thank you, have a great day yourself too!

Exact... as Marcel Duchamp said "The viewer makes the artwork".

Indeed! As "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" :)
