My post today is to contribute to CCC's Street Art contest #138, with admin @digi-me. I found several works by street painters in front of the train station in the city of Medan. When I first saw this painting, the thing that came to my mind was "this is a friendly, humorous and kind-hearted Japanese man". The color strokes around this man's lips depict a man who is smiling and humorous. I see this is a genuine smile that offers a friendship.
This man's face reminds me of a cartoon, but I forgot the title of the cartoon. A Jepara cartoon that I once watched on a Sunday morning at a television station.
This Japanese man greeted "hello Ali and Buana", presumably the two people he greeted were friends of this man.
The next street art is a painting of two girls facing each other. At first I was confused by the position of these street paintings. Based on the painting, you can see two girls facing each other, a girl with yellow hair who is given a ribbon versus a girl who is wearing a headband in her hair. What made me confused was the blue color that covered both of these girls' mouths, what was that thing?
After I noticed in more detail, the blue color that covered the mouths of the two girls were their fingers that were dyed blue. When I look at the faces of the two girls without their fingers covering their mouths, I can see the yellow-haired girl described as a cheerful girl but has a sharp gaze. Meanwhile, a black-haired girl is described as a girl who is cold and seems cold.
This street art work is rich in color and also rich in meaning. Street artists seem to "hide the details" that make street art interesting. It took me some time to understand this piece of street art and it ultimately amazed me. When looking at the painting of the two girls facing each other, this does not mean a "battle", there is another meaning that the street artist wanted to convey.
On my way back to the city of Binjai, I found a truck with artwork that caught my attention. A picture of a man with a piece of advice in the back of the truck.
The wise words spoken by the man were "Hell is none of your business and Heaven is not necessarily your place. So stop minding other people's business." Even though it sounds quite simple, these are meaningful words, words addressed to people who like to interfere in other people's lives and always judge others without looking at their own personal life. Whereas the affairs of heaven and hell are not determined by the words of people who like to meddle in other people's affairs.
