It's been a really crazy week for crypto, with the SEC going full throttle against Binance and Coinbase causing prices to plummet. This is especially so for altcoins which includes HIVE/SPS too. But just as crazily, Blackrock suddenly announced their intention to create a BTC ETF and things have shot up again in the past 24 hours. I guess that's the crypto life for you. Volatile and heart attack inducing if you're a trader who tracks it day and night. 🤣
On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, it has been really quiet. Like cricket noises quiet. I actually didn't notice any updates of any sort at all. The only thing of note was probably only when the site went down for maintenance and Guild Power went into effect. 😅
But before I go into detail...
A brief introduction before I start though...
Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳
This is now the 82nd consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊
No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

We had another End of Season come and go again, so that meant quite a flurry of activity this week for myself too. I managed to get both my main and alt accounts into the Gold League and finished there to ensure another round of Gold EOS reward chests for the next season.
The rewards were pretty ok I guess. Some gold foils and a Chaos Legion pack means that I've managed to cover the rentals spent for the past 2 weeks. Add in and SPS gained and it should be a net positive overall.
My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.
I have not managed to get any new Nightmare packs to replace all those I've sold. I will wait patiently to get them at the price I want. 🤑
⚔️🛡️Weekly Guild Brawls Report⚔️🛡️
With the end of the week comes my latest Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for "PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish" too. 🍕⚔️🛡️
There isn't anything of note to speak of in my Gladius Case openings, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully something better will pop up after I accumulate enough for another one.
🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 Fingers crossed for a Gold Foil (Legendary!!!) I hope 🤣🤑 for my future Gladius packs. (or any packs/rewards chest for that matter 😉)
My main regularly picks up the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Only Fray no.12✨🏅✨ while my alt takes up the ✨🏅✨Wild Novice League Fray no. 2✨🏅✨ every week.
Interestingly, my alt account actually outperformed my main significantly, with a 7-1 score compared to 3-3. This is one of those rare occasions where a weaker deck managed to trump the stronger one. It seemed my main had the unfortunate luck to meet lots of pretty strong opponents in the Gold Foil brawls who completely outclassed me in terms of card selection.
PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 4th place! 🏆🏆🏆
We didn't perform badly per se on an individual basis. However, our lack of numbers are really hurting our ability to get a higher score. It is very evident whenever we can't get about 9-10 participants, we drop out of the podium positions into 4th place.
Great Job from everyone who took part in the Guild Brawls! I'm proud of you all! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
On a sidenote, we've still got some unfilled frays too so...

🏆💰🎁Splinterlands News🏆💰🎁
There might not be much of any updates in Splinterlands, but do remember that the 5th anniversary DEC Burn event is still ongoing. With slightly over 12 days to go as of this post, the amount of DEC/DEC=B burnt has risen by 21m or so this week. This is a healthy consistent amount and I think it will really get interesting in the last week as everyone tries to surprise the other competitors with a last minute sneak attack up the leaderboard for those prizes. We shall see. 😉
In other news, Guild Power has officially gone live after the weekly maintenance this past week. There isn't much gameplay changes since all it means is that DEC is burnt for GP which is used to power up the guild buildings. It will be some time before we can have any idea as to whether the changes in players being able to take 90% of their contributions with them when they leave have any effect.
Weekly Riftwatchers Sales Tracker
Well, CHAOS LEGION IS ALL SOLD OUT! So the next most logical thing to track next are the sales of Riftwatchers.
1,026,688 packs have been sold (as of the writing of my post) out of a total supply of 3 million. There's still almost 500k to the next count of 1.5 million packs sold before we get the next Legendary Riftwatchers Airdrop card. 🚀📈🤑
