Ladies and Gentlemen, we've done it! After a few weeks of very competitive brawls where Pizza 1 has come as close as ever to finishing in the top spot, we have taken the win and glory of a First place victory!!
Over the past year plus, there have been many changes within the guild with members coming and going for various reasons, so it's taken some time to get a solid cohesive group together. But I'm very happy with the group we've assembled right here, right now. This recent brawl was close, and many of us faced some tough competition, but as a group, we came together and pulled off the victory by 1 win. I'm extremely proud of my guildmates and the work they've put in to make this happen. Let's continue to work and play hard and see some continued success! Congrats to my guildmates that took part of this victory

Let's check out my brawls...
Battle #1 - Win
Ruleset - Unprotected / Counterspell / Noxious Fumes
At first glance, I thought the difference here would be my Scavo Chemist providing Cleanse, however, he and my Radiated Scorcher that was cleansed were taken out pretty early. What turned out to be the difference was my Chimney Wallstop and my opponent filling all 6 spots, but due to the low mana, their overall HP was very low. This was over in a quick 3 Rounds.
Battle #2 - Win
Ruleset - Little League / Unprotected / Equal Opportunity
This one was a long one. It started out with some very quick blows traded back and forth. This gave Riftwing some time to Scavenge and gain a good sized HP base. Then, when my opponent was down to Xenith Monk, while healing everything thrown at him, it took way too long to get rid of Riftwing. All the while, it was Venari Bonesmith who grew his HP base through Leach Life. This one went all the way to Round 23 and fatigued finally finished my opponent, but Bonesmith still had 19 HP left at the end.
Battle #3 - Win
Ruleset - Weak Magic / Fog of War
I was dreading this fight the entire time. If you don't know @cogie88, you probably hadn't had to face him, so consider yourself lucky. I'm extremely glad he's part of the pizza family.
Things got off to a rough start for me. Despite Lorna's Divine Shield, Chaos Knight was stunned early. Then, I killed the Venari Marksrat, giving Corsair Bosun a boost. This was followed up with Chaos Knight being taken out completely. After a few misses however, I was able to take out the beefed up Corsair. We traded some kills before Captain Katie finally got some kills to trigger Bloodlust. I think the big difference was my mix of cards vs the heavy Ranged play which was limited them when they reached the tank position. This was over in 6 Rounds.
Battle #4 - Win
Ruleset - Silenced Summoner / Keep Your Distance
With Melee units banned, the question is always how to handle the tank position. I played a martyr user in Fungus Flinger, while my opponent chose Riftwing. First, my opponent had to get through my Slipspawn, then in killing my Fungus Flinger, boosted Centauri Mage. It was she who really helped win, providing Return Fire to their ranged monsters and allowing me to take them out a little more easily with Hunter Jarx's snipe. This was all over in 5 Rounds
Battle #5 - Loss
Ruleset - Ferocity / Are You Not Entertained? / Briar Patch
My biggest issue here was my very low HP monsters in the back line who got decimated my Deeplurker. Add this to being a learning experience. This was over in a very quick 3 Rounds.
Battle #6 - Loss
Ruleset - Supersneak / Lost Legendaries / Aim True
This one was back and forth for a while, except my opponent's Ant Miners grew too large for me to get past with it's Scavenger ability. This was all over in 5 Rounds.
I'm extremely happy with finishing 4-2. As you saw earlier, it was exactly what we needed to win as a guild, and a winning record is always a good thing. Of course, there's always room for improvement, which is why I do these brawl reports, because it forces me to look back at my battles and learn what went well and what didn't.
