My adventure in Kingdom Amalur: Re-Reckoning continues and this time I have to cross a large part of the ocean to put an end to the siege in Mel Senshir. On previous occasions I have been showing you little by little how I completed missions that apparently did not have much to do with each other, but the reality is different. Each of my actions in this fantasy world were intended to prepare me for what was to come.
My current objective is to meet the general Tilera in the coastal city of Rathir to embark on a journey to Mel Senshir. In order to do this I had to cross the entire Galafor area which despite being very beautiful was plagued by monsters.
Arriving at my destination, I witnessed the majesty of the city that stood before my feet. But since I was not here for sightseeing I immediately headed for the port area where the general was waiting for me.
When I finally find Tilera I inform her that I was ready to set out on my journey, but she replies that we have a problem. It turns out that a certain Elund Carth refuses to send troops to Mel Senshir to stop the siege. At this news I decide to go and talk to Elnud in the hope that I can talk some sense into him. Fortunately for me, some time before I had raised my persuasion skills a bit and with 95% effectiveness I managed to convince him to send reinforcements.
With everything practically ready to leave, I meet Tilera and Agarth at the port walls to take a last look at the preparations. They also took the opportunity to reflect a bit on the possibility that one of them might not make it back alive.
Arriving at Mel Senshir I realized immediately that something was not right. The air was very stuffy, there was an uncomfortable silence and a huge amount of coffins and wounded soldiers. Talking to the captain of the guard he informs me that he is almost unable to repel the last attack and that it is almost impossible to stop the advance of the next one.
At the beginning of the attack I was assigned the mission to find and defeat Malwyn, the Witch's knight. This is an extremely powerful character who had previously defeated a general. Finding him was not difficult, as he had left hundreds of soldiers' bodies in his wake. What did give me a bit of trouble was to advance, since enemy soldiers were constantly appearing before me.
When I finally reached Malwyn he was fighting with Tilera, but when he felt my presence he immediately ran to attack me. Maybe this enemy is not considered an important boss of the game, but the truth is that he can make anyone suffer. I don't know if he has any magical weakness, but he has very few physical weaknesses and to cross swords with him you have to have some skill, because in a combat of attrition he wins no matter what.
Just as he was about to win the battle, Malwyn blows a horn, but this does not prevent him from ending his life. Unfortunately, the sound of the horn is answered by Balor, a hideous, extremely large and deadly creature. With the last of her strength, Tilera attempts to attack Balor's eye, but is stopped by an arrow that pierces her stomach.
But that mortal wound would not stop the heroine, who in a frenzied act of pure adrenaline took a shield and spear and approached Balor to eliminate the niskaryu that controlled him. Unfortunately, that would be the last time she would see General Tilera alive.
It was now my turn to enter the fight and this time I was to face a huge uncontrolled monster with erratic attacks and deadly incinerating grallo. The mechanics turned out to be quite simple, I just had to attack Balor's hands to make him lower his head and attack him there.
After repeating this mechanic a few times, I was finally able to finish the monstrosity. After a beautiful sequence of scenes you can see how the enemy army retreated before the fall of its most powerful weapon.
And so much for my adventure today. A real shame about the death of the general. Also a real shame that I couldn't get the golden spear. But at least I still have my friends Agarth and Alin Shir who have accompanied me during my adventures and will surely have new quests for me.
