Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
New England Mountains DLC came out for theHunter: Call of the Wild about two years ago. But sadly despite being a beautiful map with rivers, lakes, forests and mountains, it didn't get good reviews and is one of the least favourite maps of the community. Very few are even hosting the map online.
For me it is one of the most underestimated maps in the game, let me show you its beauty through my photos.
It reminds me a lot of Hischfelden and Layton Lakes (the base game reserves) because of the vibrant orange and red leaves. It feels like an extended version of those maps but it has beautiful forests.
Hunting along the riverbanks is a lot of fun. The shallow waters make for some amazing shots too.
One of the disappointing things in this map is the lack of new animal species. Most of the species on this map are already available to hunt in the other maps and this is a major reason why many people don't like to hunt here.
I saw some Moose drinking on the banks of the river and took one out.
The landscape is just gorgeous though. For someone who enjoys casual hunting and the ambience will love this map. All the greens, oranges, yellow and blue in this map are very pleasing to the eyes.
It also features some unique structures, especially the outpost. They are quite interesting. Look at this one!
Some of them are quite big too. I think the developers really did well with the outpost designs and making them unique. But they could have done much better by adding more species to hunt.
Along with Moose, you can hunt Whitetails and Black Bears too. These are the only big species on this map. You can hunt Racoons and Easter Wild Turkeys here too. I hunted a few in one of the meadows.
I still have to unlock a lot of outposts and build a lot of hunting structures. Thankfully, I have an ATV which helps me immensely in that regard.
One of the outposts had tractors. I wish they added some more vehicles in this game which can be unlocked by the story missions.
I hunted a lot of Turkeys here which seems to be abundant in the eastern part of the map. River banks were filled with Moose but the smaller size mammals were harder to spot and hunt in this vegetation.
The hunting stands were mostly the same models recycled in this map too.
I joined the Multiplayer session for this one as I don't own this DLC yet. But I am thinking of buying it if I see them in the sale. I had fun hunting in this beautiful landscape.
I forgot to tell you about Sheru. He was happy to be in this reserve too. He seemed very excited and always getting in front of me. I had to calm him down a few times and make him sit to hunt.
And I always make him my model too. He is a good boy.
I just hope the road is safe for him...lol
The most beautiful part of the map for me has to be the river. There are very few shallow rivers like this in the game. I will be spending more time here for sure. I will leave you here with this last shot.
I hope you enjoyed reading about the New England Mountains. I will share more pictures from this map soonish.
Thanks for reading...
