Exploring Lakes in No Man's Sky!

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

This Week's Contest theme by the Gaming Photography Community is Water Experience. For this challenge, I want to share some shots from a couple of beautiful planets in No Man's Sky.

Most of you probably know about this game. For those who don't, let me tell you that it is one of the best space exploration games I have played. In it, you can explore an almost unlimited number of unique and procedurally generated planets, explore life, and do other missions.

I love to go to an unexplored system and explore planets. I went to the Urihar-Kulimi System, where you will find three unique planets. From a distance, none of these planets look like hospitable planets.

Even after landing on one of these, you will see poisonous clouds over lakes and it just looks deadly.

This planet was called Nizon Minor and I didn't rename it. I kind of liked the name and was easy to remember too. This was a 'desolate' planet with tough mountainous terrain and in the valleys, you will find lakes of water that looked like orange. What chemicals are making it look like orange? I had no idea.

The mountain slopes were so steep that I had to fly over a few of them before I found a place to land my Starship near one.

And with little sense of self-preservation, I jumped into this acidic water. Weirdly the toxicity inside the lake wasn't as high as I expected.

While the planet looked so barren from space, the lakes were completely opposite. They were rich in flora and were the habitat of most of the animal life on this planet.

There were a lot of strange creatures roaming inside this water body. Look at this one's mouth. I am glad it wasn't attacking me or I could easily be its meal for the day.

Not all were swimming some were just crawling on the water bed. I have seen creatures like this on other planets too but they were much bigger and outside of water.

I explored the lake swimming with some fish. These little fish were everywhere in the water.

However, not only animal life but also inorganic lifeforms were quite beautiful here.

One of the rocks looked like an animal face. I had to capture it to show it to you. Doesn't this resemble the head and neck of a horse? lol

I went to another lake but most of the creatures were the same and it didn't have much variety too. So, I decided to see what I could find on the next planet.

This one is called New Foferdi. A much greener planet than the other one. I was confident to find liquid water on this planet. I flew over the planet's surface in search of a water body.

It didn't take long before I was staring at the water surface. I landed my ship just next to the water body and made my first contact.

The first thing I found were these Octopus-like beings swimming in the water. They were quite shy and wanted to swim away from me.

I found an *interesting-looking stone that was quite long and was almost touching the water surface. Does it resemble something else to you? xD

I found a plant which had glowing bulbs. This is the exact plant I found on the other planet. I have not seen this before outside of this system. Maybe it is not as rare as I first thought.

Weirdly enough, there weren't enough fish in this lake even though this planet looks much more hospitable than the other one.

That is from me this time. Let me know which one is your favourite shot and why.

Thanks for reading...

Until next shot...

I thought it was a lava lake hahaha, but I liked that about appearances being deceiving, just as you say, at first I thought it was a “desolate” planet, but it turns out that among the most remote places life still does its thing in its own style.

Yeah, it looked like a lava lake...lol

My spacesuit must be so good to let me swim in that thing...lol

I love how you captured the rich aquatic life from other planets. I’m fascinated by the diversity you found on these planets. That animal face rock looks great.
