Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
This Week's Contest theme by the Gaming Photography Community is Mountain Stories. It had been a long since I played some theHunter: Call of the Wild. But I managed to play some with @bemier a couple of days ago. We were hunting in the mountains of Silver Ridge Peaks and that will be perfect for this challenge.
There is no doubt in my mind that Silver Ridge Peaks is one of the most beautiful reserves in the game. I might be biased because of my love for mountains, but not just the mountains—the clouds, the storyline, and the difficulty of this reserve make it quite relaxing for me.
I have set up many camps on these maps and spent a lot of money. I loved the highest climbable peak in this reserve. Once I climbed here, I managed to put up a tent, so now I can travel quickly and enjoy these beautiful clouds. Aren't they lovely?
These clouds were enchanting but we were looking for some animals to hunt (she is not going to get impressed by just clouds). So we went to a far-off outpost in the northern part of the reserve. This part is a hilly area with a lot of unique animals to hunt. We spotted a big lake and that was our target.
We found a couple of Black bears drinking water on this lake. I managed to kill one of them but the one she shot got away. It was just a small female and not worth the effort of going after it. This was the first time I saw an animal on this lake. It is so high up in the northeastern part of the map that there are not enough animals here apart from Bears and a couple of other species.
We moved on to look for another prey. It was still an early morning and the clouds were almost gone now. Look, how quickly the weather changes here up in the mountains. This next photo was taken like 10 minutes earlier and not far from this place either.
We found two more bears soon and a flock of Turkeys minding their business. It was time for the girl from Turkey to shoot down some Turkeys. She already said that she is good at spotting them. Even if she is not, she is good at camouflage. Can you spot her in the next shot?
We shot down a lot of animals but none of them were rare types or diamond trophies. She has become an amazing hunter and has way more patience than me...lol.
We went to one of the highest watchtowers on this map. I had this unlocked already but she never went this far out on this map so we both went there. We found some Turkeys on this grassy hill as well. Just a few hundred meters from this tower was the map border and you can't go beyond that. I wish you could go to the snow-clad mountains but not on this map. They are too far away and just there for the backdrop.
I will never get bored hunting in these hills. Love the views here. All around you are high mountains and you feel like you are in the clouds.
There are a lot of hunting stands here placed in strategic locations which gives a birds-eye view of the surrounding place and hides you in these open meadows. But some of them are unnecessary and even without them you can see far places.
We went to the lower (southern) parts of the map too and hunted some Bisons and Pronghorns there. Overall, it was a fun experience and we enjoyed it a lot. Exploring this map with your loved one is the best way to experience this game. We scaled mountains and hunted close to the lakes and open meadows. Unlocked a watch tower and a couple of hunting stands. A very productive session for both of us. Let me know which one is your favourite shot.
