Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
I bought Forza Horizon 4 recently and played it a lot over the weekend. You can read about my first impressions of the game and the circumstances leading up to that sudden decision in this post.
The first thing I noticed about this game was its beautiful world. The map is based in the UK, and it keeps changing seasons as you progress and win races. The story progression is great. The best part is the number of cars and the free-roam driving you can do.
I am having more fun just exploring the landscape than completing races. Also, the game has an impressive Photo mode and just like any new game I play, I mess with the photo mode to see what I can do with it. Today, I will share with you some pictures that I took in the game.
One of the first purchases I made in this game was this Lambo.
I tried to mess with the filters and went for this spooky look. How was the drift?
But most of the time I am taking shortcuts and going offroads. Even though this car is not made for that, I don't care...lol.
But why I am trying to fly it? There are stunts you can perform to gain more influence. I love those a lot... even better than the races.
I was a stunt driver for a movie too and they let me drive this monster.
I forgot what it was called. But it feels like a rocket. This was quite an old model too but the performance was good. The handling was terrible but the top speed and acceleration were top notch and we were shooting on a good track as well.
The whole journey was beautiful. The music, the sunset, the weather, everything was perfect for this specific mission. I wish I could do it again. I have to look it up if I can do some missions again. This was cool.
Look! I made it to the winter already. The season changes just make the whole map feel completely different. I love the winter season for the snow. And again, don't ask me why my car is off the road...lol.
Look at this spinning beauty. It is really fun to make those donuts in the snow. But why would I do it for 5 minutes straight? Maybe the sound of the engine was hypnotic.
After winning some more races and gaining some more influence we went on to the Spring season. This was quite beautiful too. Those crimson plains felt like I was in theHunter: Call of the Wild but with sports cars.
On the northern side of the map is a beautiful railroad bridge going over these plains.
You literally run against a high-speed train here. That was an epic race event. I didn't take pictures so just imagine how captivating it was...lol (I will play it again, I believe I can).
But this wasn't even the craziest race I have done in Horizon 4. I had to race against a big 'Hoverboat'. How was it even moved through the non-watery surface is beyond my explanation. But it was the coolest thing I had to race against in this game.
I restarted the race just because I wanted to experience it again. Now, I can see why the Horizon series is this highly rated.
The entire game is so relaxing and beautiful. Some parts are exciting and fast-paced for sure, like the races and weird events. But what draws me the most is you can just drive around any place you want. There are a lot of places to explore, a lot of jumps to make, hundreds of races to complete and a lot of pictures to take... and the game doesn't force you to choose any one path. You can do it at your own pace.
Controls are well polished as you can expect from a modern racing game and there are hundreds if not thousands of cars to choose from. Oh and sometimes this happens too...lol.
Let this be a warning to all of you. Don't use your phones while you are driving... no matter if it is a text from your girlfriend or a call from your dad. Maybe pick up the call from your dad just to be safe. xD
