Education or the lack of it?

I will begin by pointing out that I lived and still live most of my life in a Northern state in Nigeria. I have also received some form of education in the East and there was a large difference in the systems and way of grading. From this standpoint, I cannot fully give details on what education is like over here but I can write from what I experienced which is the reason for this in the first place.

Growing up, I was always topping my classes, so much, that it caught the attention of the right people who willingly took off the burden from my mom. From Primary to Secondary school, I was taught the basic subjects from the Mathematics to the Government studies. Compared to what I know now, it is just the basic (low) form of education. I say this because I see that lessons learned living as a person is the priceless form of education.

I would say that education would be fun if half the people in the educational sector made it so. I do not think any of the people on seat in this country understand the lack we face in the educational sector. How could they when they send their children abroad? We have been so neglected because these people have the option somewhere else.

I used to see education as fraud. In fact, I regretted furthering my education and not just using the money and time for something better. The truth is, it is very hard to enjoy formal education with what Nigeria is today. We are deprived of so much and that is because the people who are meant to listen and speak for us no longer value the system ‘they’ put in place. There is nothing to even value in the first place.

If you ask me what I think about education, I would say it is extremely necessary for man in this race we call life. We need to be educated and learning every day is part of education. It is different if you ask me what I think about the educational system in my country. If we move to the tertiary institution of what we have here, we see many gaps. There are so many inconsistencies and it is alarming. Compared to what my cousins in the U.S have told me regarding education, I find that it is intentionally made difficult over here. Especially during exams.

Personally, I think education is an essential part of life. Humans can only grow, evolve and learn from being taught. We are beings that thrive on growth and challenges. When it comes to formal education it is important, but what is also important is developing a consciousness towards the things of life. Looking out for lessons from our past mistakes and putting into practice is also a crucial part of education. The kind never ceases to be. Moreover, with that, I look forward daily to lessons life has to offer than repeated words of an individual.

Truly speaking education is the essential part of life.
I Concord with you ...

Tertiary education in Nigeria schools?😂😂
Hell, I've seen shege😂😂

Actually I learnt these lessons the hard way and even though our certificates do not seem to find better use because of the quality of education received, I am glad that I didn't stay ignorant. We understood these thing well because we are learned.
