There is a land in the south of Portugal a little less than 40km from Lisbon where we can see intact and very wild areas, for this I will take you to visit Azoia, a villa in Setubal with the best views of the country, literally Europe ends here and we come across The rough Atlantic, the sandy terrain, the 35km/h wind and the scorching summer sun set us up for a very complicated hike on some of the most difficult trails in Sesimbra! Are you ready to see the best shots of Portugal?🌍🚩🧭

How about visiting the lighthouse?🧭 / Que tal visitar el faro??🌍🚩

The first stop we will make here at the "Cape Espichel Lighthouse" with a total height of more than 360 meters, this was one of the first lighthouses to be built in the southern part of Portugal, it dates back to 1790 and like other lighthouses its main function was to serve as a guide to Portuguese ships, as well as reinforcing the protection line of the entire coast, extending to Lisbon, more than 15 lighthouses that illuminated the ocean for possible pirate ships that were very frequent at that height! To get to the lighthouse you cannot use public transport so you have two options: walk when you pass the 25 de Abril bridge and be careful, it is a very long route of 4-6 hours, or simply arrive with public transport! here you get it; (38.415533, -9.216327)🤴🏻🧑🏻‍🏫🏰

Sanctuary of "Nª. Sª del Cabo Espichel"🧭 / Santuario de "Nª. Sª del Cabo Espichel"🌍🚩

Another piece of architecture from the time but this one dates back to the year 1402, being also one of the tourist sites further west in Sesimbra, it was a Catholic place inhabited by pilgrims who lived there for more than 200 years, today it is a mortal monument. Of Portuguese historical interest, according to legend, here in 1410 the image of the Virgin Mary appeared on a wall, which made the place a place of worship to this day! Next to the sanctuary we have an aquaduct, the inside of the church is almost always closed and until today I have not been able to visit it... But one of these days I will manage to enter...🏰🧑🏻‍🏫🌅

Why not also immortalize our community?🧭 / Por que no inmortalizar tambien nuestra comunidad?🌍🚩

I always try to do my best to create the best of all content and well I also try to bring the best to the Drone community and be able to boost the views and rewards, today I feel proud because I think I have the best images so far. now published here! It is incredible that if I took photographs with my camera they could not compare with these beauties captured with my Mavic, I really did not know that Azoia was so beautiful, first time I flew the drone here and it has been a challenge because it is a protected area that requires permits, there are Many military exercises too so I finally have a day with the sky all to myself! but be careful... Azoia doesn't make it easy for you, there was too much wind so I had to be too cautious when piloting it to the sides of the lighthouse🤴🏻🌍🌅

Europe ends here🧭 / Aqui acaba Europa🌍🚩

Behind the lighthouse🌅

Technically the westernmost point of the country ends here, also technically Europe ends in this area, however the southernmost point is Sagres, there you could also say that it is the end of the European continent however Sesimbra with its wonderful landscapes invites us to make a visit to see the most beautiful side of Portugal, only this could be surpassed by some areas of the Algarve and believe me they do not compete...🧭🌏👩‍🏫

Stones and dinosaurs🧭 / Las piedras y los dinosaurios🌍🚩

If you come to Azoia you will be able to see and even touch fossilized dinosaur footprints that are millions of years old, and Sesimbra has a high record of footprints during its history due to the abundance of resources that made many dinosaurs walk here in the shape of "migration" to reach the water that was accessible in some rivers, millions of years ago this area did not have a sea, on the contrary it was plains that with the movement of the plates cause the buried footprints to rise to the surface of the hand also with erosion from the earth.🧑🏻‍🏫🌎

Unique views🧭 / Vistas unicas🌍🚩

From the other end🧭 / Del otro extremo🌍🚩

Although Portugal only has a western coast because on the other side it borders with Spain in Azoia, something interesting happens and it has coasts on both sides due to a curve that Sesimbra makes, making the experience "brutal".🌍

So interesting to see all those buildings around the lighthouse and all the trails visible from the air.
I've never seen that much around a lighthouse, usually I imagine them just the single structure.

Beautiful photos!

¡Espectaculares tomas! Te felicito 😊
