While I was still in the University, I was just so eager to graduate so I can go for service and start to collect monthly allowance from the Federal government. This made me turn into a prayer warrior funny though. I was seriously praying back then not to have a spill over.
But to the glory of God I graduated without having an extra year. After I graduated, the prayer points changed again I started praying to be among the first set to go for service to serve my father's Land.
Even if I wasn't ready financially and emotionally I was still eager to go for service because each time I see people on their NYSC uniform (which is also called khaki) I always say to myself that I will wear this uniform some day.
To my surprise when they started posting, my name was among the first batch which made me confirmed that God really answers prayers because my two prayer points were granted.
Finally I was posted to Ebonyi State Afikpo NYSC Orientation camp for the three weeks Exercise which is the Eastern part of Nigeria to serve my father's Land in the year 2020. I was still at camp when we heard of a disease outbreak called coronavirus.
Unfortunately, due to this outbreak all the corpers were asked to go back home because the disease was communicable. So we couldn't complete three weeks in camp instead we just spent one week.
Nothing withstanding I still had fun and I made new friends which we still keep in touch till today.
While in camp I filled form for relocation because of the stories I heard about the place which has to do with snakes. Thank God the relocation process was successful.
I had no choice but to enter night bus back to Abuja. I enjoyed my journey back to Abuja because there were other corp members in the bus and we gisted before we slept off in the bus.
I didn't enjoy camp very well because of the disease outbreak. We were not opportune to stay in camp for long so as to participate in different activities because of the incident that occurred.
But one thing am grateful to God for is that even with the little time, I still participated in volleyball competition and my platoon won.
When it was time for me to round up my service, it was as if it shouldn't end again because of the monthly allowance I usually receive but when I finally finished serving, it done on me when I wasn't receiving monthly allowance anymore with that I knew I had to apply for job so as to keep the monthly allowance flowing.
Since i couldn't get job anywhere I decided to learn a skill so as to keep myself busy (cause there is a saying which says an idle man is the devil's workshop) since I don't want to be the devil's workshop I decided to go learn makeup.
Am glad I took that bold step and am good at it.
