Sigh.
There is no project that weighs heavier on me than ECOBANK. What a year it has been, what have we learned?
I have touched on this in other posts, but one lesson I have learned is that "real estate" requires work, and is not nearly so "passive" as people claim. I even maybe thought I knew this, and mitigated this with a management partner, but let's just say that extracting value from our property requires more work than I anticipated.
In fact, the heavy weight to produce "no update updates" has made me think a lot about the incentives and pressures to rug, ghost or cop out. Of course I would never do any of these things with my baby ECOBANK, but I can see much clearer now how token developers casually promise themselves into unpaid future labor with which they become increasingly embittered until they can justify some escape strategy.
I can compare ECOBANK with INCOME, where everything is flowing beautifully, or even to ARMERO, where whether good or bad developments, there is a clear mission to make decisions and adjustments from, transparent ledger, and thus a base to post about at least a few times a year. ECOBANK is stagnant, and in the void of both liquidity and public response from holders major or minor, echoes disappointment with our inability to capitalize on this cycle of cheap HIVE through ECOBANK.
I had hope! It would have been great. But liquidity for real estate deals is nothing like liquidity for hive-engine tokens. Its very much "non-fungible". One day we will sell it, who knows what the US d price of HIVE will be then? No longer can we hope to get the timing crazy good "this time".
I've been working through these things, I launched an open conversation/contest about project lifecycles. And hopefully we at least made a few people think, because the winner was me, with my discussion of the ARCHON token history with respect to my recent attempts at necromancy.
In defense of ECOBANK - a path forward
"It is what it is"
"Okay then, what is it?"
We are already determined the outlines of what ECOBANK Development Colombia is, and what it represents both for the world of legal structures and for myself personally. "It has a lot of potential", yes I know. While we will continue to manage our assets as best as we can, there is more we can do, much more.
We will strive to fix the liquidity problem with ECOBANK within 2025. Those who are following along know that I am a believer in The Power of Liquidity, so how will we do it?
I have been through this experiment before, and learned a lot with the SWAP.HIVE:INCOME pool. Initially, I needed the account to provide the liquidity match, so I straight out bought 1000 tokens from the company and they paired it with another 1000. But more and more now I am able to apply the liquidity myself, freeing that corporate capital for the program. Something like this we must develop into a "liquidity roadmap" for ECOBANK.
Liquidity roadmap
The pool I have in mind is ECOBANK:SWAP.HBD. Its the only pool that makes sense in terms of ratio, which is how IL get's a bad name. I will be able to create this pool as early as end of january, using @locolombia mining rewards as a top hive-engine witness.
I have liked to imagine something like VSC or another option would be on the table before making this decision, but time marches ever onward and we will have to deal and discuss the details with the devil we know instead of waiting for an angel we have yet to meet. I will be providing a guide at the appropriate time for best practices with SWAP.HBD.
But simply put, here is our liquidity:
By various means and methods ECOBANK has managed to acquire over $5000 dollars in tokens in addition to our landed properties. By matching with unminted ECOBANK tokens, we could theoretically immediately start providing over $10,000 dollar of liquidity pool depth.
We will start a power down in January 2025.
I eagerly anticipate your comments and feedback in the meantime, and forgive me for being blunt - especially from holders of the token. I am fine with others commenting but understand that you will be sorted according to priority in these types of posts.
You see, I have not finalized all the exact moves in the exact order yet - there is plenty of room to both "read the room" as well as adapt to the realities that emerge.
