I live in Colombia! Read for real info:

So many people have been reaching out to me, to ask if the new flash tariffs will affect me and my family.

This video is worth going to youtube for:

Nah, not likely.

I bet trump would raise a lot of money on banana tariffs tho! I doubt we sell any less of them tho. Most coffee producing nations are already on or soon to be on the same lists. Do non-thinking people think that Trump can tariff cocaine or something? What is it that Colombia makes that you are happy to pay more for? Cut flowers? its our number 3 export:

A lot of people seem happy about Trump. I can say that I am indeed "having fun". But once again in my life I find myself feeling like the only adult in the room, who can see both sides.

On literally every single issue its like this. Backassward takes.

Please Trump, remove financial aid to Colombia. What a blessing that would be for all Colombians, truly.

And let's stimulate some local production while we are at it!

Remind me again what exactly are these legendary goods that are made in the US?

It is clear to me, to my fascination and horror, that Trump has chosen Colombia to make a statement. And more power to him. I hope he "knows" what he is doing tho.

My president, Gustavo Petro, just asked that Trump establish a protocol, so Colombia could be ready.

I don't know how I feel about all the jerkoffs saying "colombia" sent them there and don't want them back. No.... if anything the CIA sent them there, but sigh okay.

To anyone reading this: guys more than ever, please try to reframe your left right thinking and "take advantage" of the winds of change to demand IN YOUR OWN LOCALITY the changes that need to be made.

Its now or never - its not about parties.

Ben Norton's image helped to firmly place your position on the subject. Forget who said it, yet it has been said that it is very dangerous being an ally to the United States of America.

I didn't link it because I thought he was a bit silly all the way on the other side. It's like no one can admit its not about the specifics, we are still waving dicks.

But, yeah. I don't disagree that trump has a mandate to wrecking ball, but I hope he "knows what he is doing" while sending the message.

In the same way, the things in the city where we live must be special and people recognize our city only because of these things, so here in our city there are many special and historical buildings which are made of old times. There are and people come here to see them.

I got to laugh at how stupid people are. Trump wants to tariff the shit out of Canada or make us the 51st state. I say bring on the tariffs. It will hurt them more than then it will hurt Canada. Their inflation will skyrocket. They don't have the infrastructure in place to replace what they buy from us.

That video was funny as hell. And so true. !LOL

Tariffs are theoretically a great idea if they get rid of all the other taxes.

I worked on an ANDEAN data project including the US-Colombia free trade agreement, and there are very precise levers. Categories are over 9000

That's the problem of globalization, they can dump you to death with taxes... Good old times on middle age

The social contract does appear to be up for grabs at the moment.

These are the kind of topics that make me think that USA is too big of a country to be ruled by 1 president.

I'm not against dick waving contests but I like to be assured everyone agrees what we are doing!

😉😁👌

Trump's conflict with Colombia is questionable, Tariff increases will put economic pressure on Colombia. Trump wants to make the country subservient to him in this way.

I think he wants more to send a message to all other countries in the region, because banana tariffs make me laugh and I grow bananas.

Great to have your perspective, @ecoinstant.

"... but trust me when I say that 100% of foreign aid here HURTS colombians."

I have no doubt that is true. And not just in Colombia ...

When "the dust has settled," it will be interesting to people all over to see what our new President and the team (if they survive our Senate's nasty / pathetic confirmation process) around him have done to reshape this issue. For ALL of the current list of recipients of America foreign ... "aid" ...
