Not sure what I did wrong when testing the encrypted Hive memo though.

Ah so encryption is with memo. But they occur "onchain" with a wallet tx. So to send that secret message, you'll need the active to send 0.001 hive and memo to encrypt.
Receiver only needs memo to deencrypt. Would you like a secret message from me?
