Cuando estaba por egresar de la escuela culinaria, hice mis pasantías en ese hotel, quedé seleccionada debido a mis altas calificaciones. Cuando entré por primera vez me sorprendió las dimensiones de las distintas cocinas (por aquel entonces había 3: cocina central (la que labora para las comidas de los trabajadores) cocina Orión (la que labora para el restaurante Ánfora) y la pastelería, que labora para los 5 restaurantes del hotel y para otros fuera del complejo, es decir, el área más importante del rubro)

Tengo que admitir que me enamoré del lugar, el empleo y todo lo demás, no solo porque ofrece beneficios de ley (que para nadie es un secreto que en muchos lugares se dejó de ofrecer) sino porque tienen un nivel de organización impresionante desde los altos cargos hasta los empleados de menor nivel (jerárquicamente hablando) Las cocinas son impresionantemente grandes, organizadas y limpias, hay todo lo que se supone tiene que haber para que los empleados trabajen cómodamente, se cumplen las normas de seguridad e higiene (de hecho recomiendo sin duda alguna comer en los restaurantes del hotel) y entre otros beneficios como el amplio comedor, los chefs no deben hacer limpieza profunda de las cocinas, sino que se encarga el departamento de stewarf como debería ser, nosotros debemos encargarnos de mantener las áreas lo más limpias posibles, solo eso.

Quedé muy impresionada con su currículo y porfolio además me agradó bastante porque, aunque impone cierta distancia y exigencia (como todo jefe debe hacer) es muy amable. Me entusiasma demasiado la idea de aprender cosas nuevas (nunca manejé este tipo de emplatado a nivel práctico, sí al teórico) así que además teniendo en cuenta proyecto culinario en puertas siento que puedo aprender mucho de las nuevas técnicas y ponerlas en práctica con mi propio negocio.

Es muy curiosa la forma en la que quedé seleccionada, y es que el dicho de “cuando no es para ti ni, aunque te pongas y cuando es para ti ni, aunque te quites” se adaptó a mi fácilmente ya que yo había dejado el currículo en la recepción solo por probar suerte, y más de un mes después me llamaron, cuando ya no esperaba que lo hicieran. Lo peor de todo es que como en mi trabajo actual quitan los teléfonos celulares (después de no haberlo hecho desde un principio) yo tenía el mío de contrabando porque como estoy con el montaje de mi negocio, recibo mensajes importantes, sin embargo, como el jefe andaba cerca de la cocina, había puesto mi celular en vibrar, así que no escuché las dos llamadas que entraron. As I already told you, he was very kind and told me about what he wants to implement. He took a little longer talking to me because he was interested in the fact that I had done my internship there before and also because of the position itself, which is quite important.
Cuando llegué al sitio de las entrevistas, era en uno de los salones de conferencia, debido que había bastante postulantes, esperé mi turno y descubrí que era la única que iba por pastelería, la verdad iba como chef (independientemente del área) pero debido a que tengo más experiencia como pastelera y que les urgía llenar el cargo de pastelera porque la anterior renunció, me postularon por ese cargo y me pasaron a la segunda entrevista, esta vez con el chef ejecutivo. Como ya les comenté fue muy amable y me habló de lo que quiere implementar, se tardó hablando conmigo un poco más debido a que le interesó que hubiese hecho mis pasantías allí anteriormente y, además debido al cargo en sí que es bastante importante .
