Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community! Today I'm joining today to share with you what my day was like during the work day at the office. Last week was a bit intense and it was a bit difficult to post too much of it as I didn't have time to take pictures. I would also like to take this opportunity to explain some of the functions that the Dental Assistant has in the office, which has to do with storing materials and instruments, doing the weekly inventory and a very important task: preparing the anesthesia for the dentist. So with that said, let's get started.
Today we were visited by two patients who have been with the doctor for some time. One of them is a young lady who had a root canal. After obturation, she came back for her respective cleaning and here she is, posing for the picture after having complied to the letter with all the treatment. And those moments are very satisfying for both, the dentist and the patient, who do their part to achieve the goal of having a healthy mouth. We were also visited by another patient who is also undergoing root canal treatment and resin restorations. She has followed all the steps that have been indicated and that is vital for the work to be effective. In addition to the patient not getting complicated.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes lo que fue mi día de hoy durante la jornada de trabajo en el consultorio. La semana pasada fue un poco intensa y fue algo difícil publicar demasiado de ello pues no me dió tiempo de tomar fotografías. También aprovecho esta publicación para también explicar algunas de las funciones que tiene el Asistente Dental dentro del consultorio, la cual tiene que ver con el almacenamiento de materiales e instrumentos, realizar el inventario semanal y una tarea muy importante: preparación de la anestesia para el odontólogo. Así que dicho esto comencemos con ello.
El día de hoy nos visitaron dos pacientes que tienen ya tiempo con la doctora. Una de ellas es una joven que se había realizado un Tratamiento de Conducto. Luego de obturar, volvió para realizar su respectiva limpieza y aquí está ella, posando para la fotografía luego de haber cumplido al pie de la letra con todo el tratamiento. Y esos momentos son muy satisfactorios para ambos, el odontólogo y el paciente, quienes ponen de su parte para lograr el objetivo de tener una boca sana. También nos visitó otra paciente que también se está realizando un Tratamiento de Conducto y restauraciones en resina. Ha seguido todos los pasos que se le han indicado y eso es vital para que el trabajo sea efectivo. Además de que la paciente no se complique.
As I mentioned above, Dental Assistants must be aware of all the dental resources: the amount of them, the ones needed, the ones that are missing, the expiration date, the order and the sanitation of them. This is something that I like very much because I am a very hygienic person and I like order, so I enjoy being able to take out the materials and put them in their place, clean those areas, check the dates and leave everything as it should be. That's why I feel it's an ideal job, because I also like dealing with the patients and helping the dentist. Lastly, during exodontia (tooth extractions), it is the assistant's duty to place the anesthesia in the carpule holder (carpule syringe), insert the needle and pass it to the dentist. Cómo comenté arriba los Asistentes Dentales debemos estar al tanto de todos los recursos odontológicos: la cantidad de ellos, los que se necesitan, los que faltan, la caducidad, el orden y la sanidad de los mismos. Esto es algo que me gusta bastante pues soy una persona muy higiénica y me gusta el orden, por lo que disfruto de poder sacar los materiales y ponerlos en su lugar, limpiar esas zonas, revisar las fechas y dejar todo cómo se debe. Por eso siento que es un trabajo ideal, pues también me gusta tratar con los pacientes y ayudar al odontólogo. Cómo último dato, durante las exodoncias (las extracciones dentales) es deber del Asistente colocar la anestesia en el porta carpule (jeringa carpule), insertar la aguja y pasar al odontólogo.
