Desde hace un tiempo estoy viendo el grupo de mi urbanización una oferta en verduras que la verdad me llamaba mucho la atención pero no me atrevía a probar que tal resultaba.
Mis compras de vegetales suelo hacerlas en una frutería que queda a 8 calles de mi casa, y normalmente la hago a principios de semana. Los costos las últimas veces que estuve por allá me parecieron que estaban súper elevados, lo que me motivó a probar comprar esta semana con la oferta que les comento.
Tenía un costo de 4$ en bolívares al cambio del día y prometía tener unos 6 kilos con 750 gramos de peso total. El contenido del paquete era el siguiente:
- 1 Kilo de Tomate
- 1 Kilo de Papa
- 1 Kilo de Zanahoria
- 1 Kilo de cebolla
- 1 Kilo de plátano
- 1/2 kilo entre cilantro y cebollín
- 250 gr de pimentón
Pregunté si eran bolsas ya armadas, ya que cuando hacen esas ofertas en la calle suelen colocar cualquier vegetal, sin escoger que estuvieran en buen estado. Me comentaron que la bolsa la hacían en el momento de compra. lo que me terminó de animar a visitar la tienda.

For some time I've been seeing the group of my urbanization an offer in vegetables that the truth called me a lot of attention but I did not dare to try how it turned out.
I usually do my vegetable shopping at a greengrocer's that is 8 blocks from my house, and I usually do it at the beginning of the week. The costs the last few times I was there seemed to be super high, which motivated me to try to buy this week with the offer I am telling you about.
It had a cost of 4$ in bolivars at the exchange rate of the day and promised to have about 6 kilos with 750 grams of total weight. The contents of the package were as follows:

- 1 Kilo of Potato
- 1 kilo of carrot
- 1 kilo of onion
- 1 kilo of plantain
- 1/2 kilo of cilantro and chives
- 250 gr of paprika
I asked if they were already assembled bags, since when they make these offers in the street they usually put any vegetable, without choosing that they were in good condition. They told me that the bag was made at the time of purchase, which encouraged me to visit the store.
Y así me acerqué a la tienda y efectivamente fueron armando mi compra cuando llegué a pedirla. Cuando las pesaron no pude ver las cantidades exactas ya que lo hacen lejos de caja, así que me tocó confiar.
De regreso a casa noté que tenían un buen peso las dos bolsas y si se veían bastante cargadas.
And so I went to the store and they were effectively assembling my purchase when I arrived to order it. When they weighed them I couldn't see the exact quantities since they do it away from the cash register, so I had to trust them.
On the way home I noticed that both bags had a good weight and they did look quite heavy.
Y como soy un tantito desconfiada decidí tomar mi peso e ir comprobando cada uno de los vegetales, para verificar las cantidades que me habían dado.
Los primeros pesos me impresionaron un poco porque tenían algunos gramos de más, lo cual es poco común encontrar pues si se equivocan con los precios los comerciantes suelen hacerlo a su favor, no el del cliente.
And since I am a bit suspicious, I decided to take my weight and check each of the vegetables, to verify the quantities they had given me.
The first few weights impressed me a bit because they were a few grams too much, which is rare to find because if they make a mistake with the prices the merchants usually do it in their favor, not the client's.
Ya cuando comencé con los tomates me di cuenta que lo que sobraba allá me faltaba en las otras cosas.
Me di cuenta que me faltó pesar una cebolla y al colocarla junto a los tomates me hacía el kilo. Hubiera preferido otro tomate la verdad jaja
When I started with the tomatoes I realized that what was left over there was missing in the other things.
I realized that I didn't weigh an onion and when I put it next to the tomatoes it made the kilo. I would have preferred another tomato, haha.
Entre el cilantro y el cebollín no estaba tampoco el medio kilo completo pero era una gran cantidad para lo que suelo utilizar de estos vegetales, así que estaba bien.
Between the cilantro and the scallion, it wasn't quite the full half kilo either, but it was a large amount for what I usually use of these vegetables, so it was fine.
Y al llegar al pimentón si me llevé otra decepción pues este es otro vegetal que suelo utilizar mucho en mis preparaciones y esperaba contar con un poco más. Los plátanos si traían un poco más de peso.
Siento que esos excedentes complementan los fallos que tienen los otros vegetales. La verdad no saqué la cuenta total pero supongo que todo da los 6 y medio kilos de vegetales. Entonces, de que la oferta cumple lo prometido, si. En cuanto a precios me pareció súper accesible, yo suelo gastar un poco más, con una más amplia variedad en tipos de verduras si, pero de cantidades compro mucho menos.
Entonces para ser una primera compra me fue bastante bien, lo volvería a comprar definitivamente. Espero les haya gustado esta pequeña aventura en mis compras y me cuenten si los vegetales en su ciudad tienen estos costos.
And when I got to the paprika, I was disappointed because this is another vegetable that I use a lot in my preparations and I expected to have a little more. The plantains did bring a little more weight.
I feel that these surpluses complement the failures of the other vegetables. I didn't really get the total count but I guess it all adds up to 6 and a half kilos of vegetables. As for prices I found it very accessible, I usually spend a little more, with a wider variety in types of vegetables, yes, but I buy much less in quantity.
