Luego de casi un mes desde que me ofrecieron la oportunidad de dar clases de dibujo y pintura por fin llega el día. Mañana comenzaremos las clases.
Ha sido un mes bastante ajetreado en el que todos los días he visto videos de arte, leído mucho y estudiado para poder ofrecer un buen contenido a mis alumnos.
Le estaré dando clases a niños de 4 a 12 años y para mi es súper importante el tener pleno conocimiento de los temas para poder explicar y que todos puedan entender a la perfección.
No ha sido fácil pues en el camino me encontré con muchos retos, sobre todo el tener que aprender a enseñar. No es que ya lo tenga dominado pero al menos en mi mente está la teoría, mañana será la práctica.

After almost a month since I was offered the opportunity to teach drawing and painting classes the day is finally here. Tomorrow we will start the classes.
It's been a busy month in which every day I've been watching art videos, reading a lot and studying to be able to offer good content to my students.
I will be giving classes to children from 4 to 12 years old and for me it is very important to have full knowledge of the subjects to be able to explain them so that everyone can understand them perfectly.
It has not been easy because I have faced many challenges along the way, especially learning how to teach. It is not that I have mastered it, but at least in my mind there is the theory, tomorrow it will be the practice.
He estado haciendo muchos borradores en cuanto a mi contenido, ya luego que tenía una idea clara (tras varios días de investigación) decidí comenzar a escribirlo en mi cuaderno de guía.
No es que pienso estarlo leyendo mientras explico pero me ayuda mucho a organizar mis ideas y llevar un seguimiento a cada punto.
I have been doing many drafts of my content, and after I had a clear idea (after several days of research) I decided to start writing it down in my guidebook.
It's not that I plan to be reading it while I explain but it helps me a lot to organise my ideas and keep track of each point.
Como en todo proyecto, se necesitaba un trabajo de publicidad para dar a conocer las clases en la zona y por supuesto la academia.
Diseñé unas pequeñas tarjetas de presentación para entregar a las personas y contarles respecto a las clases y que estábamos prontos a comenzar.
Pero al enviarlas a imprimir no corroboraron que se leyeran todos los datos y fueron 4 hojas impresas que quedaron mal, pues los números de contacto y dirección (lo más importante), quedó ilegible.
Hice el reclamo y muy amablemente me imprimieron el nuevo diseño que hice para evitar fallos, estos quedaron más grandes y sin problemas para su lectura.
Por supuesto que los que estaban mal no los íbamos a dejar perder, con bolígrafo escribí el numero de contacto por la parte de atrás y he estado repartiéndolos siempre que salgo de casa.
Procuro darle mínimo a dos personas por salida y ha resultado bastante bien.
As with any project, publicity work was needed to publicise the classes in the area and of course the academy.
I designed some small business cards to hand out to people to tell them about the classes and that we were about to start.
But when I sent them to print they did not check that all the information was read and there were 4 printed sheets that were wrong, as the contact numbers and address (the most important thing), was illegible.
I complained and very kindly they printed the new design that I had made to avoid mistakes, these were larger and without problems for reading.
Of course the ones that were wrong were not going to be lost, I wrote the contact number on the back with a biro and I have been handing them out whenever I leave the house.
I try to give them to at least two people per outing and it has worked out quite well.
Adicional a esto asistí a las dos últimas clases del nivel introductorio para conocer a los niños que estaban inscritos e ir aprendiendo como es la dinámica.
Fue bien genial el poder aprender a través de estas niñas. En la segunda clase una de ellas me mostró un lindo bolso de Stich. En la primera clase a la que fui estuvimos hablando de que a ella le gusta mucho esa caricatura y había celebrado su cumpleaños con ese motivo. Entonces ella llevó el bolsito para mostrármelo.
Decidió pintar un Stich ese día y yo la ayudé para darle unos detalles más realistas a su pintura. Me alegró ver como ella se sorprendía con sus resultados y como yo pude ayudarla a lograrlo. 😊
In addition to this I attended the last two introductory level classes to meet the children who were enrolled and learn about the dynamics.
It was great to be able to learn through these girls. In the second class one of them showed me a nice Stich bag. In the first class I went to we were talking about how she really likes that cartoon and had celebrated her birthday with it. So she brought the bag to show me.
She decided to paint a Stich that day and I helped her to give her painting more realistic details. I was happy to see how she was surprised with her results and how I was able to help her achieve it. 😊
Y si estuvieron atentos a los detalles se pudieron dar cuenta que no contábamos con una mesa de trabajo. Como les comenté en post anteriores, la academia se esta formando y por supuesto, aún no se cuenta con todo el mobiliario necesario. Las clases se daban en el suelo pero a partir de hoy las cosas cambiaron porque tenemos mesa. ♥
Fue toda una travesía encontrar la mesa ideal, las que vendían usadas estaban súper caras o teníamos problemas por el tema transporte. Yo le sugerí a mi compañera que podríamos buscar un carpintero para hacerla.
Cerca de casa había uno pero fue bastante difícil lograr una comunicación efectiva pues respondía entrecortado, otras veces respondían sus hijos lo que nos hacía dudar de si era el correcto para el trabajo.
Finalmente nos fuimos hasta su casa (queda en una zona peligrosa a las afueras de la urbanización) y él al ver nuestras gran urgencia estuvo más al pendiente y finalmente se logró el encargo.
En tiempo record hizo esta gran mesa, quedamos gratamente sorprendidas. Es muchísimo mejor de lo que esperábamos y además es súper pesada.
And if you were paying attention to the details, you could notice that we didn't have a working table. As I mentioned in a previous post, the academy is still in the process of formation and of course, we still don't have all the necessary furniture. The classes were given on the floor but from today things changed because we have a table. ♥
It was quite a journey to find the ideal table, the ones that were sold used were very expensive or we had problems with transport. I suggested to my partner that we could look for a carpenter to make it.
There was one close to our house but it was quite difficult to communicate with him because he was very slow to respond, other times his children responded, which made us doubt if he was the right one for the job.
Finally we went to his house (it is in a dangerous area on the outskirts of the urbanisation) and when he saw our great urgency he was more attentive and finally we got the job done.
In record time he made this great table, we were pleasantly surprised. It is much better than we expected and it is also super heavy.
Después de lo de la mesa me dediqué a dar los últimos detalles a la organización de las actividades que haremos, a la explicación que les daré.
Afortunadamente tengo este gran libro que tiene muchas obras famosas de todos los tiempo y me permite perfectamente explicar el contenido de la clase. Ya luego les cuento todo eso a detalle.
Mañana es el gran día y yo estoy bien emocionada. Sé que será tal cual lo planifiqué. ♥ Les estaré contando que tal me fue.
After the table, I dedicated myself to give the final details to the organisation of the activities that we will do, to the explanation that I will give you.
Fortunately I have this great book that has many famous works of all times and allows me to explain the content of the class perfectly. I'll tell you all about it in detail later.
Tomorrow is the big day and I am very excited. I know it will be just as I planned. ♥ I'll be letting you know how it went.
