Hoy quiero contarles que dentro de poco estaré realizando una actividad para niños con mi marca Lakrearte.
Estaremos pintando una maceta y luego sembraremos un hermoso cactus en ella. Es una actividad similar a los eventos que he hecho anteriormente pero está vez lo haré con mi marca.
Para la actividad debemos contar con varias cositas como pinturas, pinceles, etc, pero los protagonistas son: las macetas (las cuales ya tengo, pronto se las enseño) y los cactus.
Elegí que fueran cactus porque son unas plantas de fácil cuidado y además son lindos. 🥹
No me preocupé por comprarlos porque en casa tenemos un montón. Pero obviamente debo trabajarlos para que estén lindos para ese día y dediqué la tarde de hoy a eso.
Se nos había ido la electricidad, así que hacer esto me distrajo la mente y me ayudó a pasar el tiempo más rápido.

Today I want to tell you that I will soon be doing an activity for kids with my brand Lakrearte.
We will be painting a flower pot and then planting a beautiful cactus in it. It is an activity similar to the events I have done before but this time I will do it with my brand.
For the activity we must have several little things like paints, brushes, etc, but the protagonists are: the pots (which I already have, soon I will show them to you) and the cactus.
I chose cactus because they are easy care plants and they are also cute. 🥹
I didn't worry about buying them because we have a bunch at home. But obviously I have to work on them to make them pretty for the day and I spent today's afternoon doing that.
Our power was out, so doing this distracted my mind and helped me pass the time faster.
Había postergado el hacer esto días antes porque no me llevo muy bien con las plantas, especialmente con algunos de los cactus que tenemos. Siempre termino con una espina clavada en mis manos, así tenga el mayor cuidado posible. 😓
Y esta vez no fue la excepción 😂😭, termine con una espina clavada en la parte de arriba de mi dedo pulgar. El culpable fue este cactus alargado de la foto.
Estaba moviéndolo para tomar los cactus que estaban detrás y saltó por la posición donde estaba. Terminó en mi dedo y bueno, me costó un poco sacarla. 😩
Cuando por fin lo logré, continué con la labor.
I had put off doing this days before because I don't get along very well with plants, especially some of the cacti we have. I always end up with a thorn in my hands, so be as careful as possible. 😓
And this time was no exception 😂😭, I ended up with a thorn stuck in the top of my thumb. The culprit was this elongated cactus in the photo.
I was moving it to grab the cacti behind it and it jumped because of where it was positioned. It ended up on my finger and well, it took me a while to get it off. 😩
When I finally got it, I continued with the work.
Para esta actividad elegí una especie de cactus llamada Stapelia o estrella de mar (esto lo descubrí hoy buscando con Google Lens). La razón que me gustó esta especie para llevar ese día es que ella no tiene espinas como tal.
Es súper suave al tacto, como si estuviera hecho de terciopelo y además tiene una forma súper linda. Como es una actividad dirigida a niños, estar pendiente de estos detalles es importantísimo pues no debe haber nada que represente un riesgo para ellos.
Tomé unas cuantas ramitas y las corté con una tijera para separarlos.
Luego fui colocándolos en potecitos de plástico reciclados para que ellos vayan formando raíces de aquí a la fecha de la actividad.

I took a few twigs and cut them with a scissors to separate them.
Then I placed them in little recycled plastic pots so that they would form roots between now and the date of the activity.
Mientras hacía esto, mi esposo se unió a la actividad, ayudándome a sacar los cactus, limpiando un poco la zona donde estaban y botando unos que crecieron descontroladamente y estaban entorpeciendo un poco al resto. Los botamos porque son realmente largos, más para vivir de forma silvestre y nosotros no tenemos arena en el suelo como para tenerlos.
También sacó un envase de vidrio que teníamos con un pequeño terrario. Este se rompió y era momento de sacar los cactus que habitaban en él.
Acá me encontré con estos cactus que tenían muchísimos "hijitos" pegados. Se habían reproducido muchísimo así que decidí trabajarlos para reproducirlos de forma individual.
De estos también llevaré a la actividad para contar con variedad, aunque estos si los sembraré yo junto a ellos para que no se vayan a clavar una espina.
Son suaves y no son tan peligrosos como el que me clavé en mi dedo, pero igual es algo que hay que ponerle cuidado.
While I was doing this, my husband joined the activity, helping me to remove the cactus, cleaning a little bit the area where they were and throwing away some that grew out of control and were hindering the rest of the cactus. We threw them away because they are really long, more for living wild and we don't have sand on the ground to have them.
He also pulled out a glass container we had with a small terrarium in it. This one broke and it was time to take out the cacti that lived in it.
Here I found these cacti that had a lot of “little children” attached to them. They had reproduced a lot so I decided to work on reproducing them individually.
I will also take these to the activity to have a variety, although I will plant them with them so that they don't get a thorn.
They are soft and not as dangerous as the one I stuck in my finger, but it is still something to be careful with.
Con una pinza fui despegando los cactus bebés de los dos grandes y los coloqué en otros envases de plástico.
Llené dos en total y eran MUCHOS. Hice un conteo rápido y me dio casi 50 cactus bebés. Eso solo en uno de los dos envases que llené.
Lucían súper tiernos ♥.
With a tweezers I peeled the baby cacti off the two large ones and placed them in other plastic containers.
I filled two in total and there were a LOT of them. I did a quick count and came up with almost 50 baby cacti. That was just in one of the two containers I filled.
They looked super cute ♥.
Para evitar que mis traviesas mascotas fueran a entorpecer el proceso de enraizamiento, coloqué en un lugar alto todos los envases de plástico. Así podría vigilarlos mejor.
Me faltó arreglar algunos pero ya estaba agotada y la electricidad ya había llegado. Dejé esto para el día de mañana.
To prevent my naughty pets from getting in the way of the rooting process, I placed all the plastic containers in a high place. That way I could keep a better eye on them.
I missed fixing a few but I was already exhausted and the electricity had already come on. I left this for tomorrow.
También tenía esta planta con hojas en forma de corazón que estaba bastante afectada por la presencia de esos largos cactus. Les di otra casa utilizando estos envases un poco más grandes a los que les corté la parte superior.

I also had this plant with heart-shaped leaves that was quite affected by the presence of those long cacti. I gave them another home using these slightly larger containers that I cut the tops off of.
Hopefully they will recover in the next few days.
También quería mostrarles el pequeño cultivo de cebollín y cilantro que tengo en una macetita. Ya algunas plantas están bastante avanzadas.
Cuando mi esposo estaba limpiando el área de los cactus se dio cuenta que uno de los cactus tenía un enorme capullo. Está por salir una enorme flor, y fue gracias a estas fotos que le tomé que descubrí el nombre de esta especie de cactus.
En internet dice que tienen un olor bastante feo y la verdad me da miedo averiguarlo cuando abra 😂, ya luego les estaré contando cuantos días demoró y si era verdad lo que decían.
Por ahora me despido, pronto les contaré más acerca de la actividad. ♥
I also wanted to show you the small crop of chives and cilantro that I have in a small pot. Some of the plants are already quite advanced.
When my husband was cleaning the cactus area he noticed that one of the cactus had a huge bud. A huge flower is about to come out, and it was thanks to these photos I took of it that I discovered the name of this species of cactus.
On the internet it says that they have a pretty nasty smell and the truth is that I'm afraid to find out when it opens 😂, I'll be telling you later how many days it took and if it was true what they said.
