I just realized that we've gone through two-third of the first month of this New Year. Does it still feel like a new year? Nah! The whole New Year vibe is long gone. The hustle and bustle of life is back and we are faced with a year that is filled with opportunities, threats, risks, and rewards.
As far as I can tell, I've been hardly unsuccessful for the first 3 weeks of this year. I looked at my finances for the year so far and it's showing some good signs. However, y'all know that the devil is in the details. I'm not scared to look into that detail though. I dug into the details last night and realized that I've also spent a whole lot of money this year. Haha.
Inflation sure has its way of messing around with us. There are bills to pay and there are expenses that even the most minimalistic of all minimalists would surely have to face. I know I do my best to set my priorities straight. This lad right here has both practical and theoretical knowledge of finance.
It isn't easy though.
During my workout routine on Wednesday evening, I was coming back from a 2 hours walk when I decided to walk into a restaurant and get something I would eat when I got home. I had the meal packaged and microwaved. Then, I paid for the meal, and was deducted from my bank.
As you can see from the above screenshot, the transaction was successful on my end and it was received. However, the restaurant said they didn't get any remittance. The restaurant is pretty big and the cashiers I was dealing with approached things decently. So, I don't think they are telling lies.
So, where did the money go? Lol.
That's part of the drama we face over here and there has not been a shortage of drama around me this year. I'm trying hard to not be drawn into unnecessary drama because I'm laser-focused this year and I know what I want to achieve.
Our electricity supply has been very poor too. My freezer is barely cold and this discourages me from cooking because I don't want to spend time cooking something I will eat just once, except if we are talking Noodles. I would prefer to cook stew in big quantities and have it in the freezer. However, the cards we are getting dealt by our electricity distributors are awful. Same with our network providers.
The good news though is that I got myself backed up quickly, so my work doesn't get too affected by the unavailability of light.
Do you see the above power bank? I spent #41,000 to get that just two weeks ago and it has already proven to be a happy buy which is very fit for purpose.
I'm going to try and relax this weekend. I have a football game to watch in an hour from now. I also called my customer who I get foodstuff from. I will be going there to get a carton of Noodles and a carton of Spaghetti/Macaroni this night. Both of these go for #23,000. I will likely get to her shop on my way back from my walk.
It's just crazy to pen down what's going through my mind amid everything that's happening around me. However, I know I'm going to live this life to the fullest and I'm going to smash crazy goals this year.
See y'all when I see y'all.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.
