Today in the morning we left home to visit my father, I had to take him the medicines he would take this week and spend some time with him. When we arrived, my husband suggested that we go buy some tires because the ones on the work truck were a little worn out. And to roll, you have to roll safely. So my dad got dressed and came out with us.

Hoy en la mañana salimos de casa para visitar a mi padre, tenía que llevarle los medicamentos que tomaría esta semana y pasar un rato con él. Al llegar mi esposo sugirió que fuéramos a comprar unos cauchos porque los de la camioneta de trabajo se notaban un poco gastados. Y para rodar, hay que hacerlo con seguridad. Así que mi padre se vistió y salió con nosotros.
Our tour started after lunchtime, and since we were going to visit several points, to be on the safe side, we first went to the pump closest to my father's house to fill up with fuel. He loves this pump, but I don't, because it is so far away from where they put the fuel from the pay station. For me, it is a system that wastes my time, although the fuel from it is very good.
Nuestro recorrido comenzó pasada la hora de almuerzo.Como iríamos a recorrer varios puntos, para ir seguros, primero fuimos a la bomba más cercana a casa de mi padre para colocar combustible. A él le encanta esta bomba, pero a mí no, porque es muy distante donde colocan el combustible de la taquilla de pago. Para mí, es un sistema que me hace perder tiempo, aunque es muy bueno el combustible de ella.
After refueling, we continued our tour appreciating the natural and urban landscape that I love so much.

We arrived in the city, where we visited several places to see if we could find the rubber measure. But, as it was Saturday, many places had closed earlier than usual, making our search fruitless. So we will continue our search for the rubber on Monday.

Since there was nothing else to do, we stopped at another pump to fill up with fuel, because on Sunday many of them are not open and it is better to have the vehicle with fuel. While my father and my husband were waiting in line, I started walking along Juan Bautista Arismendi Street.
Como no quedaba más que hacer, pasamos por otra bomba a colocar combustible, porque el domingo muchas no abren y es mejor tener el vehículo con combustible. Mientras mi padre y mi esposo hacían la cola, yo me puse a caminar por la calle Juan Bautista Arismendi.
To be more specific, the beginning of Juan Bautista Avenue that starts in Porlamar and ends in Punta de Piedra. What caught my attention was a fountain at the beginning of the avenue. According to a local, they call it “La Sirena Fountain”. I was told that when it was inaugurated, the mermaid at the top was very beautiful. As it is made of bronze, it has turned brown over time. This local told me that it was donated by some French people, that it was a very beautiful fountain, although it has been a victim of vandalism and neglect. But little by little it is being rescued.
Para ser más específica, el comienzo de la avenida Juan Bautista que empieza en Porlamar y termina en Punta de Piedra. Lo que me llamó la atención fue una fuente al comienzo de la avenida. Según un lugareño, la llaman la "Fuente La Sirena". Me contaron que cuando fue inaugurada, la sirena que se encuentra en la cima era muy hermosa. Como es de bronce, al azar del tiempo se ha tornado de color marrón. Este lugareño me refirió que fue donada por unos franceses, que era una fuente muy hermosa, aunque ha sido víctima del vandalismo y descuido. Pero poco a poco la están rescatando.

Por su forma, en la parte de abajo, tiene la forma de un banco para sentarse, y a su alrededor han ido arreglando las plantas, haciendo de esta redoma y su entorno un pequeño punto verde en medio de la ciudad.
I confess that I was delighted to see this mermaid on top of a plate with pearls. I have to come back one day when it is fully restored to see it in full working order.
