Beautiful life, frens! Friday out here, yay! It's fascinating how the days go by, it often makes me wonder where time rushes to. Perhaps I am (subconsciously) overly conscious about getting older by the day, lol!
My cousin pinged me the other night and after a few chitchats, she reminded me of insurance and stuff. She was proposing something with various riders - hospitalization, life care, accident, death and disablement benefits, etc. I teased her that I surely needed one for a personal nurse since I had no offspring to look after me when my hair turned grey. We laughed over it for a while before we changed the subject.
She wanted to visit so I kidded her not to arrive without a gallon of ice cream or the door wouldn't open, lol! And that reminded me of our love for sweet, cold, frozen delights.
As I mentioned previously ice cream is one of our guilty pleasures. We rarely return home without enjoying a cone or a tiny pint of the delight whenever we go out. Unless of course, there is nowhere to buy any.
The truth is, I don't recall when my addiction to it started. My sweet tooth was influenced by my mother who used to keep chocolates (candies or bars) in the house which she and I snacked on kind of secretly in my younger years. My Dad was health conscious so he didn't want any junk on the table or anywhere in the house so we often hid things from him and Mom was our accomplice, lol!
Maybe my fascination with ice cream was born from my love of sweets. It's not only me but my siblings too so perhaps it runs in the family, lol! But who doesn't like the sweet, cold delights? If you have not tasted any, kudos to you but you're missing something delightful.😂
Kidding aside, there are countless mixes and combinations of flavors in different packaging these days. We like most but we do have our favorites. We either enjoy them singly or eat them with other snacks (i.e. bread, biscuits, bananas etc). The cup below, for instance, was enjoyed with Ube bread at my sister's place some time ago. As for coned ones (or on the stick), we love to have them on the roads.
My love for the cold delight had me create my first-ever successful homemade ice cream roll some years back. Now I wonder where that passion went as I no longer have the urge to whisk anything anymore. But it was nice to have done something like this then.(Shared this a long while ago here.
My BFF relocated to the city recently and invited us for coffee. I teased her that coffee is off-limits to me so I'd go for ice cream instead. She was also one of those with whom I've enjoyed different versions of the cold delights during our Uni days. Maybe we'd surprise her soon and share a big pint of our favorite and try to relive the memories of yesteryears.😊
