My cat sit sitting duties have commenced!
For the past ten years, I have looked after my friend's three cats while she goes on holiday. I house sit as well. She has a lovely house and garden so it's no hardship. Unfortunately, my welcome was a little underwhelming. This is the difference between cats and dogs, I guess. A dog would have been pleased to see me.
Puss cat barely opened her eyes, or should I say eye? I took it as a complement, though, as she normally runs and hides when someone turns up. With me, it's like she's saying, "Oh, it's you."
Sadly, a couple of months ago, one of the cats passed away. She had diabetes so she had to have an insulin injection every morning. She was fine for a year or so, but time caught up with her. It is strange only seeing two bowls on the floor now. RIP Lexie.
On a brighter note, hopefully, the sun will stay out so we can still all enjoy the garden.
I caught him drinking from the watering can even though there's clean water for him in the kitchen .... sigh.
My friend has put a foot stool at the side of the bed so the older puss cat can get on the bed. She can still get on the settee, but the bed is slightly higher, and she struggles a bit. I guess we are all getting older. So far, so good.
