I don't have a Christmas tree, but I do like to put some lights out. The days are darker now and shorter and they do give some nice and warm light even during the day. I just put them loosely with some extra beads to reflect the light better.

Of course everything had to be inspected and approved by the hard working Furry Assistant.

Quick look, little sniff and a pat and she went straight to fixing stuff. Of course I didn't put it the right way.

Fluffy assistants always love to test something new and bright. The cat looks great against the background of "cozy" lights. Apparently this has become the cat's favorite place on New Year's holidays. 😃

hehe ... surprisingly they have mostly left the lights alone this year ...although I did have a crazy little boy years ago that climbed up everything, and you would have sworn every single light on the tree was an enemy that had to be scoped out, stalked, and attacked💥 !LOLZ ... every morning the tree needed to be redressed! Ornaments scattered ... some even broken... it was erm annoying ... but he was so cute 💗 His name was squirrel ...apt! Hope you are having a lovely Christmas 🎄🎄🎄

Hahaha There are enemies everywhere! Hoomans don't see them but the brave protectors of the house realm take care of them. Squirrel was a very brave puss :D

No not Midnight. She's okay and still comes around every feeding time. The one that died is Torty. She lives inside the compound. Here's a picture of the compound cats. Torty is the one at the bottom looking at the camera.

I love your first picture as if your cat is saying "You humans and your traditions". Cats love to chew and chew on lights from my experience, I don't get it. Maybe the lights attract them?

Cats like to chew on anything string-like. I dunno what's up with that. She use to bite on cables as a kitten. Now she has fixation on any line or thread. Everything has to be hidden, or she will eat it.
