"Nipper," the famous does listening to his master's voice from Victor Records, is arguably one of the most famous mascots, trademarks, and images of all time. Everyone knows the pooch.
Nipper himself was a terrier and the painting was created by Francis Barraud in 1899. Nipper was listening to a gramophone, a modern piece of equipment at the time.
Now, for Caturday, let me introduce you to The Modern Nipper, named Jewels, a four month old kitten who seems fascinated by my vinyl record player:
fwiw, the record player itself isn't all that fantastic from a sound quality standpoint, but it does play vinyl, has an internal battery so is portable (which is very cool) and has software to digitize records that are played (which I use occasionally for my 78rpm records).
Jewels is fascinated, and seems to want to be a DJ when she grows up.
