It's been a while since I wanted to buy a different beer to start writing for the BEER community. Even though I enjoy a nice cold beer, especially since it's summer here in Brazil, I found it a bit tricky to talk about a beer I already know and am used to drinking. Since my palate is already familiar with it, I felt somewhat incapable of describing the flavor and mentioning anything interesting beyond my own personal taste.
A few days ago, while grocery shopping, I came across a beer I hadn't seen before, and yesterday I finally decided to open it. The beer in question is Patagonia Amber Lager, an Argentine beverage with 4.7% alcohol. Normally, I wouldn't pick a lager, since my habit when choosing a new beer is to start with an IPA. I really enjoy this style because of its bitterness and because it often brings unexpected flavors. But since Patagonia only had lager available, I decided to go for it.
The label is stunning, and I have to admit that it was the main reason I decided to buy it. The beige mountains, the forest, and the lake, forming a Patagonian landscape, reminded me of how much I want to visit that region of Argentina. But the sky color—whoever designed this label was really clever, because the reddish tone of the sky is the exact color of the beer!
It's a gorgeous color, and just by looking at it, you instantly want to drink it. I particularly love beverages like this—ones that awaken your desire just through their aesthetics.
While researching online, I found out that it pairs best with meat and vegetables. But since all the meat I had was frozen, I grabbed some snacks from my pantry, and I must say, everything paired perfectly! The snacks were peanuts, salami, and a bag of Sensações, a salty snack from Elma Chips that we have here in Brazil.
The flavor is light yet very present. At first, I noticed a slight oxidation, followed by an unbelievable smooth caramel note. It's not exactly sweet, but that caramel touch is perfectly balanced, making you want to take another sip. Good thing I went with the 740ml bottle instead of the 350ml one—I was on the fence about it.
I paid around 8 Hive for it. It's not an expensive beer, just about 3 Hive more than a Brazilian beer of the same size. Definitely worth it, and I’ll for sure have it again soon—just to make sure the taste doesn’t change depending on the batch.

Já faz um tempo que eu queria comprar uma cerveja diferente para começar a escrever para a comunidade BEER. Por mais que eu aprecie uma boa cervejinha gelada, principalmente por ser verão aqui no Brasil, pra mim era um pouco complicado falar sobre uma cerveja que eu já conheço e sou acostumada a beber. Pois, pelo fato do meu paladar já ser acostumado, me considerava pouco capaz de descrever o sabor e mencionar algo interessante além do meu próprio gosto.
Há alguns dias vi uma cerveja que ainda não conhecia quando estava fazendo compras de supermercado, e ontem decidi finalmente abri-la. A cerveja em questão, é a Patagonia Amber Lager, é uma bebida argentina com 4,7% de álcool. Normalmente, eu não escolheria uma lager, pois tenho o hábito de que sempre que vou escolher uma cerveja nova, começo pelo IPA. Curto bastante cervejas desse tipo, por serem amargas e por na maioria das vezes trazerem sabores que não espero. Mas, como só tinha do tipo lager da Patagônia, decidi começar por ela mesmo.
O rótulo é muito bonito, e devo admitir que foi o principal motivo de eu ter decidido comprar. As montanhas bege, a floresta, o lago, compondo uma paisagem patagônica me lembraram que tenho muita vontade de conhecer essa região da Argentina. Mas, no tom do céu, quem pensou nesse rótulo foi muito esperto, porque o tom de vermelho do céu é a cor exata da cerveja!
Uma cor lindíssima, que quando você olha, dá realmente muita vontade de beber. E particularmente amo bebidas assim, que com a própria estética já desperta a vontade.
Pesquisando na internet, descobri que ela harmoniza melhor com carne e legumes. Mas, como toda a carne que eu tinha estava congelada, peguei uns petiscos que tinha na minha dispensa, e devo dizer que tudo combinou perfeitamente! Os petiscos são, amendoim, salame e um salgadinho da Elma Chips que aqui no Brasil se chama Sensações.
O sabor dela é leve, mas muito presente. No início senti uma pequena oxidação, depois vem um tom de caramelo suave inacreditável. Ela não chega a ser doce, mas esse tom de caramelo é na medida perfeita que faz a gente querer tomar sempre mais um gole. Ainda bem que escolhi essa garrafa de 740 ml e não a de 350 ml, eu tinha ficado na dúvida.
O valor que paguei por ela foi cerca de 8 hive, não é uma cerveja cara, apenas 3 hive a mais do que custaria uma garrafa dessa quantidade de uma cerveja brasileira popular. Sem dúvida, valeu a pena, e com certeza é uma cerveja que pretendo tomar de novo em breve, até pra ter certeza que o sabor dela não muda dependendo do lote.
