Hello, Hivers and Beer lovers!
I spent the last days in Colombia walking around the city and without much desire to write, so I've been a bit quiet here in the last few days. I also arrived with a lot of things to do at home and I've had a lot of CBA as my friend @tengolotodo would say 😆 But it's time to get back on track, I have a lot I want to write about my days in Bogotá and for today, I'm going to tell you about another beer I tried on my trip. I already told you about a craft beer I tried at Tres Guerreros. Tasting craft beers in Bogota.
This time I will refer to one of the well-known brands there, not a craft beer, which is Club Colombia.
On a previous visit to Colombia, I had already tried some of the beers of this brand, but I had not tried their black beer.
One day, when I went out for lunch, it was the only option they had of Colombian beers on the menu of the place. I don't usually drink black beer but I ordered it, and to my surprise, I liked it a lot.
So at the first opportunity when I was in the convenience store near my lodging and I saw they had it, I bought one to drink in the afternoon on the terrace after one of my long walks.
Club Colombia beers are lager. And this one, despite being a dark beer, seemed a bit light. Maybe that's why I liked it;)
But what does the brand itself say about its beer?
Pale, Caramel and Roasted Malt
This combination of malts brings a black color to the beer with a slightly sweet and dry flavor, along with notes of coffee and chocolate.
And the pairing food that they recommend,
Best paired with smoked and roasted foods such as a roast, as well as sweet dishes and chocolate or coffee-based desserts.
I honestly don't like to combine beer with desserts, but they are the experts, hehe.
But it was a good beer to refresh me after a long walk.
That afternoon, I stayed out on the terrace enjoying my beer while answering some comments on Hive.
And I stayed there until it got dark, enjoying the nice weather in Bogota those days.
This is my entry to #BeerSaturday week 344. And now is my turn to invite you Super Ed @tengolotodo to write a post on a cheeky wee beer experience, and write it with at least 3 pictures.
Thank you for reading.
