Ploegsteert Blonde for Sunday
After a weekend with a lot of work, you deserve a nice beer. I found one in my fridge and here comes the story...
Hey Hive Family
let us travel the world again
and have a great beer
Another beer from the Xmas Calendar
Today I had another beer from my 2022 beer calendar and this was a Ploegsteert Blonde. It comes from "Queue de Charrue" and the Vanuxeem Brewery from Belgium
Open the beer
I grabbed my good old bottle opener and helped the beer out of the bootle
The Vanuxeem Brewery
is a beverage wholesaler located in Ploegsteert, Belgium brewing 6 beers named Queue de Charrue. This company is a distribution brewery.
History
Henri Vanuxeem took over the Gillebert brewery, based in Ploegsteert in 1906 and developed a local brewing activity. Half a dozen beers were brewed in the first half of the 20th century.
In 1966, the brewing equipment became too old and the brewing activity stopped.
It was not until 1986 (the year of the beer in Belgium) that Vanuxeem resumed its brewing activity, with the Queue de Charrue, originally only the old Flemish "brune" type. As the brewing equipment was not available, a fellow brewer brewed for Vanuxeem. In 2009, the work is delegated to the Verhaeghe brewery. The brewery of Bocq and the brewery Van Steenberge produce another part of these beers.
Queue de Charrue BLONDE
The 6.6% Queue de Charrue Blond is a high-fermentation beer. Its subtle hop aromas give it a soft and generous aftertaste. Its balanced bitterness gives it a slightly fruity fragrance. It will surprise you with its finesse and refreshing character.

RESULT AND CHEESE
The Ploegsteert Blonde is a delicious belgium blonde as you expect it to be.
Hazy deep golden pour with a big frothy head.
Spicy yeast and notes of coriander dominate the aroma.
The taste follows the nose with some spicy yeast but is not as powerful as the smell.
Medium, soft body with good carbonation.
Overall this was a very decent Belgian blonde.
This goes well with cheese
The DACH "BeerWichteln"
There is a new activity we are testing within the German-spoken community. This is called "BeerWichteln"
Here people (Hivians) sign into our form to send to other Hivians a box of 4+ beer. We try to get 20 people to this beer party as everyone will get some beer to drink and post.
