Hello Hive friends, it's me Dan, your friendly high school newbie blogger. It's my first time to post here on HivePH. How are things going? For me, I'm just happy that we have a two-day break from school because of the holiday, I was finally able to sit down and write something for my blog. Here in the Philippines, we are celebrating a double holiday for this month, April 9 for the Day of Valor and April 10 in honor of Eid al-Fitr.
Anyhow, Last Saturday was our school's quarterly Portfolio Day, this is where they announce the honor list for the quarter. I'm just happy to share with you that I was included in the list of the top students of the quarter. My twin sister Daphnie, who is also my classmate, also made it to the honor list, which was a pleasant surprise for both of us. We were nervous on Friday afternoon, while we are waiting for our teacher to announce who would be included in the list. I had high hopes cause I also got high scores on both monthly and the quarterly exams but didn't want to jinx it, so I kept quiet and waited patiently for the announcement.
I received 3 awards this quarter, aside from the Academic Excellence Award, both me and Daphnie also got the Most Punctual and Conduct Awards.
There were 37 honor students from our Grade level in total. I was also happy to see many of my friends also made it to the honor list like Gerald, Edil and Leonard. Each one of us set a goal to be part of the honor list for each quarter, and while I didn't make it in the first quarter, I did what I can to keep up and was able to achieve this goal in the second and third quarters. I promised myself that I would continue to study hard cause I wanted to be part of the Recognition Day by the end of the year. I believe that with hard work and dedication I can achieve that promise to myself, no matter how hard it gets.
I have one more to go before the school year ends, and I am determined to finish strong and hopefully make it onto the honor list again. I hope you will also pray for me and support me as I try to achieve my dreams one step at a time. Thank you for allowing me to share my small wins with you.
