Theme: Your Experience with HivePH
Tell us the positives and negatives of your experience in the community so far. It doesn't matter if the community is presented in a negative light from your post as long as it's an honest criticism of the community. We'd like to hear member feedback and have it to be documented on the blockchain.
It was a month-long experience for me when I joined the Hive PH discord server. I was asked a series of amusing questions the moment I joined the server. Seriously, who doesn't know the date of Jose Rizal's death, the Philippines' national hero? As amusing as it may appear, the bot asked this anyway. In fact, it was my first time downloading a Discord app on my phone because I was unfamiliar with the service. Because there were too many hashes, bots, and channels, I was adjusting its visuals.
Someone like me, who’s illiterate in discord, was welcomed warmly by the staff and some members of the said community. You instantly felt that you belonged, were accepted, and had a sense of freedom. A little bit of chitchat once you get the role assigned to you. The role(s) you hold will be used to distinguish between members, administrators, and moderators. Well, I think the division between them was hardly felt since the staff were very jolly and responsive to the messages. They ruled on every topic, or sometimes they were the ones who brought up topics, and everyone else would follow.
About the Staffs
What could I possibly say about the HivePH community's staff if they are truly humble, kind, and generous? I believe I interacted with the majority of them, and no questions were left unanswered, as far as I recall. Especially to my guide, who has never stopped providing us with information, tips, and warnings. I don't remember him scolding me or us, but he always uplifted our spirits like a true brother and leader. Because you didn't have an instant amount of HP when you entered Hive, you had to transfer to Hive and power up, the staff were very generous to newbies who needed HP.
I couldn't deny that there was one staff member who truly terrified and intimidated me. Perhaps this is how he manages the community and his leadership style. I had a few conversations with him in the mafia game over time, and my perspective and impression of him changed dramatically. I wouldn't say I completely understood him, but I could sense his sincerity in every honest criticism he leveled. So far, the staff has been outstanding, and I hope you all continue to do so because it allows someone like me to progress quickly from my baby steps.
About the Members
Since the day I joined the HivePH server, I've never felt like an outcast because I was with my friends on the other platform. This means that adjusting to the new community was not difficult for me. We studied how the Hive system works and how we can effectively grow our accounts. It was amusing to think that my perceptions and impressions of them were so different from what was written in the blog. I thought this person was shy, introverted, and quiet, but once they let loose, they started talking a lot in the messages.
There are really times in the community wherein it has at least a few members who have a stubborn personality. I am not saying that I am not like that but do not reach a certain level where you forgot your place. Like you have to consider the community’s reputation because it would always reflect the staff and members too. To all the members of HivePH, both active and inactive, I wish everyone to become someone the newbies would be looking up to because I believe in that way, we will grow the community healthy, reputable, and respectable.
About the Webinars
I believe I've attended at least three webinars hosted by HivePH staff. The webinar was hosted by the community to teach newcomers the fundamentals of Hive, which is extremely beneficial. They teach us how to quickly grow our accounts by making connections and networks not only in the aforementioned community but also in communities that we identify with and are interested in. The webinars provided us with a deep understanding of Hive's complexity, and the speaker broke them down for us so that we could better understand them.
In fact, if it weren't for their webinars, I would definitely bombard my guide with questions that he might find annoying, but thankfully, we haven't gotten to that point yet. I could say that all of the webinar speakers knew what they were talking about and provided a clear and precise description of each topic. The presentation's mastery can be seen and felt. What I liked about their webinar was that they were on time and committed to it. I admire people who value time the most because few people do.
About the Games
The Friday event is the most exciting aspect of being a member of the HivePH community. The Friday event is something I always look forward to, and I made sure to make time for it. The games were not fixed because they changed every week, but one thing remained constant: the enjoyment and joy they provided. The smile on your face will never leave you once you enter the game. It will be occupied until the game is over. The games actually require good internet and quick hands, because if you don't have either of these, you will most likely lose without earning a single point. It happened to people who worked for nothing but fun.
I am truly grateful to my newfound HivePH friends for broadening my perspective on topics I was previously unaware of. The games allowed me to reconnect with them and have fun without worrying about who won or lost. However, in some cases, we knew and predicted who would win the night. Aside from that, I admired the host's time and effort in developing a good game, as well as how he or she organized the game. It was a difficult task to complete if you were not invested in it. Pure excitement is all over me today.
I barely recognized myself in Hive over the last month, but it transformed me into someone I never expected to be. I realized that when you work alone, without the assistance of others, your journey will be as difficult as a rocky road. However, if you allow yourself to be a part of a specific community, which I believe is always a choice, you will be surprised at where you are now. That being said, my HivePH community, which was the first to accept and teach me, will always have a special place in my heart.
