A once fantasy has finally been materialized into a living despite the circumstances that came my way. Although it wasn't quite as planned due to my father's untimely death, making it a reality gave me a sense of accomplishment. A long-held family dream vacation overseas has finally been materialized!
More than a week ago, my contract in Hong Kong ended after more than six years of service. I applied for an extension of stay and I became a visitor. A day later, my family arrived in Hong Kong, and I was relieved to see them safe. I was very concerned because it was their first time flying abroad and dealing with immigration issues. But at least they were able to get through everything.
Seeing this little patotie made me even more happy. It was her first time traveling by plane. And seeing my family before my eyes and bearing witness to the materialization of my own dream, left me a feeling of mixed emotions. I looked forward to making wonderful memories with them.
They were sleepless and exhausted, especially since a super energetic kid was with them. We proceeded to the hotel. It was another hour of traveling from the airport by bus. Unlike in the Philippines, some buses in Hong Kong have second decks. They were amazed. It was their start of adjustments to the new community with a new culture.
It was quite late at night when we arrived at the hotel. Most of the shops were already closed, and only a few were open so we just ordered food to go. Gladly, a restaurant selling rice sets was still open. I let them taste some of the Chinese foods with soup, don't seem to be their liking, though. They still like Filipino foods.
They wanted some rest rather than anything else. When the kid fell asleep after being so naughty, everyone followed.
The next day, we ventured into a new adventure and they looked excited, especially the kid who seemed to like riding on a train. She would utter "train, train, choo choo..." which she got from Cocomelon. Seeing my family happy has an indescribable joy that warms my heart and uplifts my spirit. So that was the reason I was gone for a week. I was busy traveling around Hong Kong and Macau with my family. In the coming days, I'll be sharing some of our adventures! I will see you there!
Time flies truly so fast. It's now July which means, another Hive Power Up Day! Don't forget to power up. It's good to be back home. And it's good to be back Hive.
Thanks for your time.
