When I went back to Luneta Park, also known as Rizal Park, some memories came flooding back. That came after our trip to Manila Ocean Park. Since it had been a long time since my mother had visited Luneta, I didn't think twice about taking her to the park, which is conveniently located nearby. She mentioned that the place had changed much since she had last visited. Of course, it has. She was still a young lady when she first visited Luneta.
Meanwhile, it was 2017 when I first visited Luneta. My transient house was just near it, particularly in Padre Faura, so it was just a walking distance for me when I was in a mood and not lazy to walk. Otherwise, I'll ride a jeep going to Ermita. I used to go there when I felt bored staying alone at the transient house. Sometimes, I would stay in the garden located within the park premises until night.
It is ideal to visit Luneta during the daylight because there are many attractions nearby, including gardens, museums, and art galleries. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time left because it was already dark. My only intention was to show my mother Luneta before finding a venue for our dinner that evening.
All of us were worn out, especially my little nephew who had already dozed off. Too bad for him, he didn't see the musical dancing water fountain with light effects which was played a few moments when we got there. It was a great timing. He likes seeing such effects, but poor boy, he missed them.
The last time I went there, there wasn't such a water fountain show. With light effects, the water moves to the rhythm of the song. Seeing the water move and swing to the music and lights was entertaining. The popular music being played is sure to get the guests moving. After our long tour of Manila Ocean Park, viewing the musical dancing fountain at Luneta was enjoyable and worthwhile.
We were asked by a photographer if we would like to have souvenir photos that would be taken at a fair price. His camera was better than mine, so I took his offer without hesitation. I had hoped to use the musical dancing fountain as our backdrop, but he zoomed the photos, so only a part of the fountain was taken. However, since the photos are still good, I still paid for them.
I asked to switch locations, and the photographer agreed. We went to the area full of lamp posts as I found it romantic. Even though I was hoping for better photographs, the results fell short of my expectations, lol. Being kind and considerate, I just bought all the photos he took and paid Php400, excluding the ones he enlarged and framed without our consent, lol. My mother didn't like leaving the printed photos, so she bought the enlarged and framed ones. I assumed it was a belated Christmas present for him. At least, we had some souvenir shots at Luneta Park which I didn't think of doing in Manila Ocean Park. Such a waste of chances.
It was just a quick peek at Luneta Park. This park, by the way, offers a spacious place that is great for family picnics and some group gatherings. Besides, visiting the place would also help you learn some Filipino history.
After some photoshoots, we headed out to look for a place to dine. Before going home, we had a sumptuous dinner at Food Haus ala Fiesta. We went back home with a full stomach and happy thoughts.
