Ola Hivers!
I want to share my awesome experience during our Team Building It is an event conducted by our SK Youth Officials.
It is held in Phillip’s Sanctuary, Brgy. San Juan, Antipolo City with the theme “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.”
It is a 2-day event that is full of learning, friendship, and leadership.
The place is huge and peaceful as well there's no internet connection which is good for us so we can socialize without using our gadgets.
Upon arrival, the facilitators led and grouped us randomly, they based the group on the color of the shirts and it was already picked. I belonged to the "Peach Team"
I don't like the color of the shirt I prefer the Blue one but I don't have a choice tho lol!
When the assigning of teams is completed. They called our attention and placed us in our designated areas, and the event finally started.
Day 1: August 26, 2023
Seminars & Trainings
• Youth Anti-Drug Awareness
• Mental Health Awareness: “Is it OK to not be OK?”
• HIV Testing & Counseling
• Health & Nutrition: “You Are What You Eat.”
• Environmental Sustainability
• Socialization Night
I learned a lot from Day 1 the seminars and activities are truly worth it! There's a new thing that I've discovered.
Drug addiction, awareness, and how to deal with it are so crucial especially in our era glad that they share knowledge about it.
Proper diet and healthy food seminar is also a big help to me I was able to identify the proper foods that I need to take and the unhealthy as well. My favorite topic was "Mental health" We were all focused while they discussed it they taught us how to take care of and love ourselves.
It's okay not to be okay is the line that hits me.
The seminar ended at 7 PM, they served dinner for us, and after that we had a socialization night wherein, we were able to meet and socialize with other youths aside from that they prepared some games that we enjoyed I participated however, I ended up being a loser HAHA lol! Parlor games are not for me there's also a Bingo with a cash prize and still not lucky on that Jeez! 😑😂
Day 1 is full of learning and we're able to get along with each other, especially my team.
Now here's the summary for Day 2: August 27, 2023
• Best in Battle Cry
• Team Building Activities
• Awarding of Winners and Certificates
This is it! The most exciting part of this event.
Battle Cry is more like cheering, we have to make our jingle within a short period this is just epic because our entry placed in the last spot lol the 5th place HAHA.
There are 5 teams. Purple, Blue, Green, Pink, and of course the Peach.
The team that completes the obstacle in a short period is declared as a Champion this is a battle and race against time.
In this shot, we perform our chants also this is the time were my dignity turns into dust because they told me to twerk and for the sake of this community I'm not gonna share that scene. HAHAHA
Picture Me
In this course, we need to imitate, objects or happenings and we need to act but we are not able to move so this one is the scenario in the Train Station and I'm the driver lol!
Tires and poles
We just need to pick the tires and make sure that it touches all the holes but it mustn't touch the stick or we will get a penalty which is an additional 5 seconds for every error
This obstacle is the easiest for us, we are the overall winner among the 4 teams. We anticipate and get the technique easily, proper coordination and timing are our keys during the game.
Centipede Race
All players must be locked in their arms behind and form like a centipede
they must walk through the checkpoint without collapsing their arms the first to reach the finish line will be the winner.
We finished this course quickly however we had some lapses so we received a lot of penalties during the game.
Acid River
We need to imagine that we are stuck in the River full of acid and the only way to get through is by constructing our bridge without leaving anyone behind. I found this game very difficult because the mud also the woods were too heavy for us to swing and we only had 2 bricks for each bridge, we spent a lot of minutes finishing this one.
Unity Walk
This is a pain in the ass! the course that I hated the most lol
We Are Stuck in the Mud, our wooden shoes didn't even move we were immobilized for almost 15 minutes or more the reason why we got 5th place however, I salute my teammates for not giving up they still finished the course that's the time we decided to just enjoy the game because we all knew that we will be on the last spot.
The Rope Race
This course is quite easy cause the rope is stable, enough to cross the other side all of us complete the race within minutes.
Cross the river
This course is just like the first one but this is the hard level, cause we have no rope to lean on it's a matter of balancing 0 out of my 10 members didn't cross to the other part same on the other teams. HAHA
Spider Web
This course needs to be done carefully, we need to pass the hole without touching the net so to make this easier for us we chose those slim and tall and they finished it quickly.
Low Rope Courses
There are 3 stages for the rope courses composed of 12 players, we managed to finish it quickly cause this time we decided that all of our players would be boys and that works!
Final Course: Mud Crawl
There's no exception to this course all youth members must experience this one, for me this is the most exciting and memorable course that I've taken all of us are happy and laughing while doing the course and we are not rushing and don't care about time. We will just be thankful because we finally finished the race and no one got hurt.
Awarding Ceremonies
As I've mentioned, we got 5th Place while the overall Champion is the Pink team followed by Gree, Blue, and Purple.
We received some cash prizes and certificates from the officials.
Some photos of the Venue (Philip's Sanctuary)
I'm so grateful to be part of this event I enjoy it a lot. I appreciate everyone's effort just to ensure this team building becomes successful. I appreciate my team for being a good team player, and for participating and cheering every one of us.
Also special shout-out to the venue, I love the trees and the very relaxing vibe that I felt during our stay.
I wish I could be part of the next Team Building and share with them the smiles, happiness, and excitement once again.
Thanks for reading, see you Around!
