Hi Guys! It's Mooon and I'm here to share with you my experience when I explored the famous falls here in Antipolo City called "Hinulugang Taktak"
Taktak Falls is a 7-foot waterfall located along Taktak Road, Barangay Dela Paz in Antipolo City. Antipoleños (residents of Antipolo) believe in the legend that in the 16th century, locals complained about the loud bell that rang every hour of prayer and asked the local priest to remove it. The priest then carried the bell to a nearby river. This explains the waterfall's name "Hinulugang Taktak" which means "where the bell falls".
The most popular tourist destination in Antipolo is this beautiful waterfall. Greenery, a calm atmosphere, a healthy environment, clean surroundings, clean water running, lovely birds chirping, and people enjoying the area. The water was so pure that even the colors of interesting butterflies could be seen upon it.
I went to this place last Saturday and I was amazed by what I've witnessed.
A lot of trees, hummingbirds, and healthy plants.
Upon entry, you need to register first, and don't worry they just need your minor information for their record.
You don't need to pay for the entrance fee, amenities, and activities, you can enjoy the park for free. YES, everything is free however, you need to be responsible for your trash
The park is extremely huge, there's a cottage that you can use for free and a swimming pool for kids.
After I explored the place, I saw a spot where I could rest and eat, Luckily, I got the spot near the falls so I ran into it.
I bought some food and drinks so I could stay for a while and enjoy the place since I had enough time to spend, I can now eat my McDonald's at peace 🤣
A few hours passed by, and I opened the book that I currently reading which is "The Davinci Code" by Dan Brown.
Of course, I can't enjoy the book without coffee glad that I didn't forget my McCafe 😁
My spot is just perfect! I can hear the waterfalls while reading and sippin' my coffee the vibe is soothing.
At 1 p.m., the facilitators start facilitating the activities and that's exactly what I'm waiting for!
Here are the activities that you can try for free.
- Canopy Walk
- Spider Web
- Wall Climbing
- Rappelling
- Swimming pool
However, the Rappelling is under maintenance, and wall climbing was not allowed at that time so I only experienced the Canopy walk and Spider web but still worth it.
There's a waiting area before we do the activities and a waiver that needs to be signed the facilitator also instructs us what to do while initiating the activity.
To ensure our safety the safety instructor gave me a safety helmet and harness which is very crucial in this kind of activity and I salute them for being approachable.
I try first the Canopy walk. The canopy walk was a series of suspended bridges and platforms high up in the trees, giving visitors a bird's-eye view of the forest below. It was a popular tourist attraction, and I couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about.
As I made my way up the winding staircase to the starting point of the canopy walk, my heart was pounding with excitement. I was nervous, too, of course - after all, I was about to walk across a series of bridges that were suspended dozens of feet in the air!
But as soon as I stepped onto the first platform, my nerves melted away. The view was breathtaking - I could see for miles in every direction, and the lush green canopy of the forest stretched out below me as far as the eye could see.
I made my way across the first bridge, my feet carefully stepping from one plank to the next. The bridge swayed gently in the breeze, and I could feel my heart rate increasing with every step.
But as I got used to the motion of the bridge, I started to relax. I began to take in the sights and sounds around me - the chirping of birds, the rustling of leaves, and the gentle creaking of the bridge beneath my feet.
By the time I reached the end of the first bridge, I was grinning from ear to ear. This was an experience unlike any other, and I loved every minute of it.
Over the next hour, I made my way across a series of bridges and platforms, each one more thrilling than the last. I felt like I was flying, suspended high up in the treetops and surrounded by nature.
The Spider Web
Surely, this is not for the faint heart as you need to cross above 21-meter waterfalls, also advisable that you have company for this one however, in my case I don't have any but I still enjoy it!
This is quite easy just make sure to not look down or else you will get dizzy by its height.
When I reached the middle of the web the safety instructor took a shot and I struck some pose lol!
This is my first time trying the spider web and I can say that this is truly amazing and exciting. Suddenly you can turn yourself into a spider or should I say Spiderman LOL!
There is also Wall Climbing but it is not available when I visit the park due to maintenance and kind of slippy as per the instructors and trying it might lead us to harm well, at least I have a reason to return 😂
