Almost 2 years since my store was started. The capital money of it was just an amount of 30,000 pesos. I bought a single type of coffee, canned goods, noodles, and soft drinks. There were bottles of beer and bottles of alcohol but it was not much. Imagine, just for an example, one (1) cartoon of Tanduay rhum cost 1,138 pesos for only 12 bottles. Estimatedly, the capital amount couldn't buy many items. It was not easy, it was tiring because, in a week, I bought products to sell 3 times. I filled the items that were already sold because I did not want people not to buy something when they purchased in my store.
This kind of strategy has been going on for 5 months until the capital amount grew bigger and gave me the opportunity to buy a large number of products. I only purchased products once or twice a week because I already had the money to buy more in every purchase. Then as time passed with a better flow of the store my store got bigger. I started selling other products aside from the everyday use products, for example, coffee and milk. I started selling not fast-moving products like body soap, cologne, beauty products, and more. The situation of the store got stable but my plan for my store didn't stop with those. So I began to consult stores that had been selling dressed chicken and ice cream.
I was ashamed of course because not all store owners were willing to share information since they would have competitors. I learned information and started saving money that I earned from my store to buy other products. I decided to save money first because these types of products require a bigger amount of money. For one crate or a single box of dressed chicken contained in 15 pcs only cost 3,000 pesos. Then the minimum purchase of ice cream should be at least 5,000 pesos. That's how much money I needed to acquire those products and to make it happen I relied upon my store of course.
After purchasing those products, I separated the earnings from the earnings of the store (general income). I did that because I considered the money I used in purchasing those products to be a debt. I didn't want to get more money from the store because I always thought of making it bigger. What I did to make sure those products could pay the money being used. I separated every earning of it, another wallet for dressed chicken, for ice cream and of course for the store that it earned from the basic products of the store.
At first, it was a little bit worrying since not all the time the store was working well. Besides, I separated the specific products' earnings to monitor their sales. I remained positive despite the downs sometimes and the bad happenings as well. Although, thanks to it I purchased 3 refrigerators that are helpful to my store. When the store just started I only bought a 10 ft chiller for soft drinks and beers. But now, I have one (1) 10 ft freezer, exclusively for ice making, one(1) small chest freezer exclusively for dressed chicken and frozen goods, and one small chest freezer for ice cream only.
So far, my store is doing well these days. I began accepting gcash as well, for cash-out and cash-in customers. That's why, when I said I would accept hive in my store, not just for payments but also for sending money and exchanging Philippine money. I'm not saying I have more money but at least I will not be hungry even if I don't have a job. I rely on the store and side income for blogging in the hive. It's not that bad of a lifestyle even though sometimes it's quite boring. And yeah, by separating the money that we are going to use for certain expenses it allows us not to overspend it. Also, we can monitor if we still have money left to use in different matters or things.
