A year gone by so fast, not knowing that it happened already. Of course, even if not everyday is quenching the beauty of life. I’m still thankful as always, because again, I made it to another chapter of Life. Yes, it’s my birthday after all, so the dramas and the exaggerating words are because of it all.
So….what’s next to say? Hmmm, actually, I was not so sure what to say before I started pressing the keyboard to create words and to become sentences. Suddenly, yes, it’s so sudden thoughts that came into my mind while taking a stroll in this breezy morning. I kind of wanted to write something after having a walk with a beautiful environment; The photos would tell you why I thought I had.
Birthday huh? It will never be special when just thinking or dreaming of it alone. That’s what I thought too before the day of my birthday. It didn’t excite me, nor make me happy. To summarize the feeling that I felt, it was nothing special. Yes, it’s just like a normal day when I woke everyday as usual.
However, when the day comes, together with my wife, family and friends. The feeling has changed but I don’t know how to explain, it;s just that and that. Just immediately I felt like something inside felt lighter, was it because of a happy feeling. Not sure but I’m sure that it was because of the beautiful people around me.
It was yesterday that I celebrated my birthday and obviously today was not already. Even so, I’m still feeling good. Yes, it’s kind of sad because it happened so fast. It’s okay, the feeling is still there. I’m so happy that I shared laughter with my wife, family and friends together on my special day. That’s what I am most thankful about as I remember yesterday's celebration. No sugar-coated words or dramas needed, just thankful.

Paul was born in Macrohon, Southern Leyte but currently living in Cahayag, San Francisco Southern Leyte. He graduated the course of a BS Mar-E or Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering in 2019. Although writing is his passion so instead of sailing he decided on writing.
