You and I can agree that we are exposed to a multitude of devices that can destroy our eyes. At work, we either use a desktop computer or a laptop and for leisure and entertainment, we use our mobile devices or television. Would you believe that 1/4 of your day is allotted to screen time? On the blog Alarming Average Screen Time Statistics (2022) they mentioned that:
globally, people average 6 hours and 58 minutes of screen time per day
In my experience, I spend more than the said hours as I work 8 hours during the work week and after work, I still have Hive and use my cellphone for resting. If I will be nitty-gritty probably it will be more than 12 hours per day!
I am used to this life since I started working and each time that we will have an Annual Physical Examination in our office during an eyesight check I was always asked if I wear glasses and I said no. I had one before but since I believe that there was nothing wrong, I rarely use it back then.
But these past few months as I am more glued to my devices than before I decided to visit an optometrist. @ayane-chan and @bluepark shared in their previous blog post about how they got their glasses this year and somehow I was encouraged to give it a shot and try to give it a go. I watched vlogs as well to determine which will be the best lenses that I will get.

From what I had researched my lens would be at least the following: Single photochromic -blue light lenses. These words are quite meticulous the same as a Hot Venti Mocha with Three shots of Espresso with Non-fat Milk but believe me, it is what it is.
Since there are optical shops in the market area I asked them how much would it cost for me to get the following in my glasses. They mentioned that the price would range from 2000 PHP to 4,000 PHP depending on the frame that they will use. Every shop that I asked gave the following answer. I am just canvassing since I want to know the price first since I don't have spare money to spend. I also asked if they are accepting credit cards as payment but unfortunately, none of all that I had inquired about said yes.
So one day, when our family went to SM San Pablo we saw Executive Optical and find some frames and a stand saying that they are on sale. I asked if they accept credit cards and mentioned yes. Also, the assistant informed me that if I exceeded 3,000.00 PHP they can offer an installment package for 6 months to 12 months at 0% interest depending on what I wanted.
I was able to acquire one and the price was enough to cover the program that they are offering. There I found out that I already had astigmatism in my left eye which further explains why I am having a hard time seeing things clearly. Since I am used to not wearing glasses, when I tried and compared my vision to as before it would be exaggerated if I say that with glasses I am seeing in more vivid color compared to not using one.

Now you might be wondering if it is time for you to try and get one. I believe that you need to have your eyes checked as well or even if you are not having issues like mine and the others it will be better for you to have extra protection with your eyes.
Remember our vision is one of the things that help us every day - if we do not take care of it this will affect us in the long run as well.
Optical shops usually offer free eye check-ups so grab the opportunity and have yourself tested.
