When I was a kid, I don't believe in ghosts, so even if it's already evening time, I still wanted to play hide and seek with my cousins. However, when I get fond of watching television during November, there are a lot of clips of advertisements that have been aired on TV, and that is when I first became scared of ghosts.
One time, my family was watching a horror movie, and if I am not mistaken, that was one of the best episodes of Shake, Rattle, and Roll. It makes me cry when there is a surprising moment in the movie. I ran fast and went to the other house, which is our great-grandmother's house, and I reported to my great-grandmother the reason why I ran fast and why I am crying because I am super close with her, but she told me that ghosts are not real. That I should not be scared of them, and if there is anyone I should be scared of, it should be God.
So my fear of ghosts was gone, and I just avoid watching television when the Halloween celebration comes. Not until one day, I can't believe that I will have these experiences with ghosts in real life.
But before we continue this, I would like to inform you that this blog of mine today is my entry for the @hiveph weekly blogging contest for Week 1.

My creepy experience inside the old restroom of our elementary school
When I was an elementary school student, our school was so old. If you can see in the lead image of this blog, that is the back of our Grade 5 class room.
In the year 2011, that is what our elementary rooms look like. But at this year, our elementary school rooms and everything else have been renovated, and they look good and new now compared to our old classroom before, so I don't have an example of how our elementary school rooms and surroundings were so very creepy before. Good thing that they are still not fixing this part of the school. So I have an example of how our classroom was before.
My grandparents told me that our school was an old cemeteries and a military office before, and many people have been buried wherever we stamp our feet.
When I was a Grade 5 student, our restroom was so far from our classroom. I didn't have so many girl friends during that time. In short, I was a loner because, when we are still young, you know that we have had some experiences with bullies. We get used to having someone to be with when we go to the restroom, right? But as for me, I don't have any companions, so I go there alone when I need to pee.
Back then, some children found our bathroom very scary because of how it looked. The restroom in our school is so very old. There's no roof, and it was just made with a hollow block as a cover, but there are cracks, there is moss, and there is also a letter of some kind.

My mom told me that if this is how our school was when I was in elementary school, this is how it looks like when they are still studying there too. So even the restroom is the same as before, and so I can't blame the other kids for finding the restroom so scary because it looks like a haunted restroom, especially when you enter it and find a small room that has been locked for a very long time, and the teacher doesn't want us to open that room, and I don't know why.
Another reason they are scared to go there alone is because the restroom is near a mountain of waste.
So here is my real-life scary experience in this restroom. One time, I was alone and went to pee. It's our time to go home, but I can't stop it already, so I decided to stop by first in our restroom because I don't like to pee on my uniform. I checked my watch to see if it was already 4 p.m. After I peed and was fixing my uniform, I noticed in my peripheral vision that there was someone passing by on my back. And I heard the noise of the door of the abandoned small room inside the restroom being opened. You know the sound of some creepy old doors in horror movies? That is what it sounds like. I gulped after hearing that sound, so I closed my eyes and slowly looked behind me to see if there was anyone there, but there wasn't. I was alone at that time, and the door of that creepy small room was closed. There's no wind during that time, so it's very unlikely that it's because of the wind; if it's a wind, I think I can feel it on my skin, but nah. After I fixed my uniform, I ran so fast because of that.
The Swing in the Playground of our School
One night, I dreamed of our School playground. I don't know why or how but it looks like it was real and I was inside of my dream.

In my dream, I was at our school, and I was in the playground. I was staring at the swing that had no one sitting on it but was moving alone. Then there is this scary and unexpected thing that happens to me. I can't stop myself from walking in my dream. I am crying because I can't stop myself from walking to go near that swing that still keeps moving. Thanks to God! Because I finally opened my eyes and stopped me from going near the swing, but... when I opened my eyes, I was shocked because I was now near the door, I was standing, and both of my hands are numb. And because I was scared, I went back to where I was sleeping and tried to sleep again.
The 3 AM door knock
Many people say that when it's 3 a.m. in the morning, that is the most likely time that a ghost will be active, not at midnight.
I do believe in ghosts because of my experiences, including what I experienced in our elementary school restroom and when I dreamed of our school playground swing. So this experience of mine was real too.

I get used to sleeping late. No one is awake at 3 AM here in our house.
That time, my earphones were plugged into my ears while I was lying on my bed reading a story on Wattpad. My earphone was plugged in, but there's no music playing on it, so I still hear the noises outside. I heard a knock on the door, and I checked the time on my phone, and it's exactly 3 a.m. in the morning, and it's so weird that there's still someone who will visit our house around that time. I didn't pay attention to it and went back to the story that I was reading, but again, there was a knock, and I wondered if my grandparents heard that too. But I guess it's not because the lights didn't open. I started to feel scared, because if there's someone there, I think the dogs outside will bark or howl. Plus, the gate in our living room leading outside of our house is locked too. So I decided to go to sleep, and in the morning, I asked my Grandma if she heard the knock around that time, but she answered me that she didn't hear it but that I did the right thing by not opening the door when someone was knocking at that kind of time because maybe you can't see them but they will go inside your house. Before you open the door for them, ask them first what they want, and if they will not answer, let them be.
Doppelganger
I was in high school back then; I don't remember which year I was at that time, but I remembered the time that someone copied my sister. Since we are always going home every lunch, the time of our arrival was sometimes earlier than 12 n. and/or the exact time. I was always the first one to go home in our house, and I was always the first to eat. While waiting for my sister to arrive, I'm drinking some water in the kitchen. When she arrived, I called her and asked her why she was late going home, but she didn't respond to me, so I looked at her and called her again, but this time I felt it was creepy when she looked at me with an unusual look.
That my sister never looked at me like that, so when we arrived at home at 4 p.m., I was shocked because of what she said:
"Hindi ako umuwi kanina Nay (Grandma) kasi kumain nalang kami sa karenderya." (She said that using our Ilocano dialect.)
I was curious to know who that was, so I told them about it, and that's the start of why she always keeps wearing a rosary necklace, and when I watched something similar in one television show (KMJS), I was shocked to know what this was about.
These are my few experiences with ghosts. I know that it was hard to believe because we all have our own opinions about ghosts. Some people believed them because they also had experiences, and we also have some people who didn't believe them because they had never seen one. As for me, I never saw a real ghost; just the creepy face of my older sister's doppelganger when I was in high school, and until now, the creepy expression of that doppelganger is still a fresh memory inside of my mind from while I was typing that story.
And if you would ask me what I always do every time that I have an experience like this, I always pray to God to help me and to keep me away from evil spirits, and so far this year, I haven't had any experiences with ghosts again. I can sleep late, I don't have any bad dreams, and I was thankful that he heard my prayers.
