Hello, It's Yza again for another story, but this time it's a spooky one. How's the Halloween season going? Are you ready for a horror story?
Do you love to take pictures? Better check your old photos now. Who knows, you might have yourself a photobomber.
I had a personal experience with an unexplained paranormal event a few years back in our office. Our office is in the heart of Cebu City. That's the only clue you'll get from me.
Prior to this experience, I recall hearing a story from one of my teammates while we were still in training. In the middle of the training, he suddenly asked us, "whose kid was that?" He said he saw a kid pass by the training room. We all just laughed at it because we taught he was joking, but it turns out there were quite a few horror stories that we were about to encounter.
It was four years ago, when this story happened. We were having a training session about a new segment of our project that was launching, and we were on the afternoon shift at that time. If you work in a BPO, you know that the morning and afternoon shifts are usually the quietest as there are more people working during the graveyard shift.
We had just finished our lunch break and were about to head back to the training room when my friend called for a group selfie in the hallway.
We were certain that there were no other people around us at that time. The hallway was super quiet and we were the only ones there making noise, filling the boring hall with laughter and jokes.
After taking the pictures, we headed on to the training room, and while waiting for the trainer to arrive, I asked my friend if I could check the pictures that we had just taken, and when I was scrolling through his phone, I was surprised by what I saw.
In one of the pictures, a photobomber appeared. I literally had goosebumps while holding his phone and staring at the photo.
There was a girl behind us.
Her skin looked pale, and I couldn't tell if she was angry or smirking.
I mean, if we were mistaken and there was a real person behind us when the photo was taken, then shouldn't her skin tone be the same with ours? And we were really certain that no one was around.
Unfortunately no other pictures were taken on that day, that was the only one from the hallway and the rest were just videos of us having fun ice breakers in between the training.
I remembered stories by tenured colleagues about the imaginary kid on the 5th floor, whom they called Junjun. They say they hear a boy playing or sometimes giggling, but there is no one there. Or stories about how they heard keyboard sounds in one of the meeting rooms only to find no one inside.
I'm not sure what happened that day, but I know these paranormal events are really part of our lives. I don't think they mean any harm. As a friend once told me, "matakot kana sa buhay, kesa sa patay."
We just need to respect and learn to live with them.
How about you? Do you have any paranormal experience? Does it scare you or do you find it exciting?
