¡Llegó otra edición de la Eurocopa! Alemania será el anfitrión durante las próximas semanas del mejor fútbol continental. En la última edición Italia se alzó como campeón. Éste año ellos mismos participan para defender su título, pero otros parecen más favoritos, en los papeles. Por favor, acompáñame en éste análisis de la primera vuelta de la fase de grupos del torneo que empezará mañana jueves.
ESPAÑA vs. CROACIA
ESPAÑA ha llegado a la competición con una excelenta fase clasificatoria, donde pudo ganar siete de los ocho partidos. Al revisar la lista de convocados vemos un muy buen equilibrio entre experiencia y juventud. Luís de la Fuente tendrá una interesante decisión en la delantera, puesto que Álvaro Morata no ha estado muy afinado en los últimos meses en el torneo español, pero es el que está llamado a ser el titular de la roja. Por otro lado, Joselu, aunque con menos minutos jugados, tal vez algunos prefieran verlo jugar y que con más minutos pueda intentar mostrar su potencial. También, el nombre de Olmo podría sonar, aunque no como delantero centro, modificando el dibujo de la formación. También fue noticia que Cubarsí no fue convocado. Pero vemos los nombres de los defensa centrales y hay muy buena calidad, como Laporte, Nacho y Vivian. España ya ha ganado éste torneo en tres ocasiones, y con ésta plantilla buscará la cuarta copa.
CROACIA está al mando de Zlatko Dalic, y vienen motivados luego de ganar a Portugal en el último partido amistoso preparatorio para ésta ocasión. El fútbol que está regalando Croacia en los últimos torneos internacionales es de alta calidad. Es por eso que llama la atención lo que pueden presentar en ésta ocasión, y vaya nombres que se trajeron. Modric ha vuelto a ganar otra Champions League y le caería muy bien ayudar a que su selección a que logre una hazaña importante éste año. Además, Gvardiol es un joven que ha ganado recientemente trofeos en Inglaterra bajo la dirección de uno de los mejores entrenadores, tanto que ha sido reconvertido a lateral, donde también será usado en la selección. Brozovic y Kovacic son más nombres que le aportan mucha solidez al mediocampo. Aún así, el camino no será fácil. Los españoles apenas es el primer eslabón. Luego de enfrentar a Albania tendrán que vérselas con el actual campeón. ¿Podrá meterse entre los dos mejores del grupo o tendrá que apelar a las frías estadísticas para ser uno de los mejores terceros?
Éstos dos equipos se han enfrentado en ésta competición en tres oportunidades, siendo victoria para los españoles en dos ocasiones y una para los croatas. La más reciente fue en la última edición, donde tuvieron que llegar a prórroga, terminando en victoria para España. Michael Oliver será el árbitro para éste duelo.
POLONIA vs. PAISES BAJOS
POLONIA ha estado presente en las últimas competencias de selecciones, pero atraviesa una difícil situación ahora mismo con su delantera. Las sucesivas lesiones de Milik (quien ya se perderá todo el torneo definitivamente), de Swikerski (luego de un salto de celebración de gol) y ahora de su máxima estrella Lewandwski ha hecho que los seguidores se lleven las manos a la cabeza. Sin embargo, parece que éste último podría estar para la segunda fecha de la competencia si todo marcha bien con su desgarre. Así que seguramente Piatek asuma el rol de delentero centro en el debut de los polacos. Para pasar de ronda, Polonia probablemente esté pensando sumar puntos en todos los partidos, porque le tocó un grupo difícil, junto a Paises Bajos, Francia y Austria. ¿Podrán lograr su primer objetivo sin su máxima estrella?
PAISES BAJOSes uno de los que llama la atención, y no solo por su color de uniforme. La naranja mecánica vuelve con Ronald Koeman a cargo, quien ha protagonizado varios comentarios en contra del club español dueño de la ficha de Frenkie de Jong quien no pudo llegar a recuperar su salud antes de éste torneo, y el entrenador ha responsabilizado directamente al club. La dupla de centrales actualmente ha logrado solidez que esperamos pueda verse también en la competición. Con todo, hay algunos nombres que pudieran estar en su última Eurocopa, tales como Neuer, Kroos, Can y Müller. Hablando de Kroos, ha generado mucho revuelo su regreso a la selección. De seguro estará como titular, aunque no estoy seguro si podrá disputar siempre los 90 minutos. Creo que si ya tienen ventaja en el marcador, buscarán conservar sus energías. ESCOCIA tendrá la excelente vitrina que aporta un juego inaugural. Los dirigidos por Steve Clarke se presentan como el único equipo que pudo vencer a España en la etapa de clasificación. Hay mucha presencia en la Premier League de ésta selección escocesa. Por ejemplo, Robertson, McGinn y McTominay trabajan en el Liverpool, Aston Villa y Manchester United, respectivamente. Cooper está en el Leeds, que compitió en la segunda división del país. Y no han dejado atrás la juventud y el talento, incluyendo al del Brighton: Gilmour. Todo ésto puede hacer concluir que si algún partido amerita un juego más físico, ésta plantilla sabe qué hacer. Probablemente, esa sea una de las cartas que decidan jugarn ante una Alemania que goza de jugadores muy fornidos.
Estos dos sólo se vieron las caras en la Eurocopa de 1992, siendo la victoria para los teutones, quienes perdieron la final ante Dinamarca ese año. Éste partido incluirá un homenaje a Beckenbauer. Clemant Turpin será el árbitro.
EL JUGADOR
