Los cuartos de final de la UEFA Europa League han comenzado el día de hoy, y uno de los partidos más llamativos es el que se ha disputado en casa del equipo dirigido por Stefano Pioli, me refiero al AC Milan, quien enfrentaba en condición de local a la Roma que dirige magistralmente Daniele de Rossi.
Un partido con mucha paridad, en el cual había muchas expectativas, sobre todo del lado de la Roma, que no deja de sorprender gracias a su buen funcionamiento colectivo. Recuerdo hace un tiempo atrás reseñar un partido entre ambas escuadras donde no atravesaban muy buen momento, lo hice más que todo por la historia detrás de los clubes, pero el presente es totalmente diferente, pues, tanto el Milan como la Roma están jugando muy bien en la liga domestica que está por terminar.
A falta de tan solo 7 fechas, el diávolo se encuentra cómodo en la segunda casilla, mientras que la Roma está a solo 3 puntos del Bologna que se ubica en la cuarta. Bajo este panorama se enfrentaron en suelo europeo en un partido que cumplió con las expectativas de principio a fin.
La Roma toma ventaja
El buen juego del equipo de la capital salió a relucir el día de hoy, los rossoneri no pudieron descifrar la muralla que De Rossi armo en la defensiva, pero no me malinterpreten, la Roma no planteo un partido defensivo en ningún momento, de hecho fueron muy consistentes con el estilo actual que poseen, el cual se basa en un ataque rápido por las bandas con posesiones largas en el centro del campo.

Particularmente tenía mucho ánimo para ver este encuentro y debo decir que no me decepcionó en ningún momento. El Milan hizo lo que pudo, pero no le alcanzo, fue neutralizado en la zona media y sus delanteros no tuvieron ningún mano a mano porque no podían acercarse a la portería rival, solo en la segunda mitad tuvieron algunas aproximaciones, pero la mayoría de sus disparos los realizaron fuera del área y el portero belga Mile Svilar respondió muy bien en todas las ocasiones.
El gol llegó en la primera mitad por medio de un cabezazo de Mancini quien burlo a la defensa rossoneri para quedar libre en un tiro de esquina y poder anotar con cierta facilidad, de hecho todos quedaron estáticos sin hacer nada, ni los defensores ni Mike Maignan en la portería pudieron evitar que el italiano anotara con suma facilidad.
Debo confesar que me sorprendió un poco ver a la loba yéndose al descanso con ventaja, me espere un Milan más vertical donde agobiara a su rival, pero no fue así, ni Leao ni Theo Hernández que son los motores ofensivos del conjunto rossoneri pudieron entrar en juego, Theo no podía descuidar a El Shaarawy que atacaba por esa banda, lo cual dificulto sus subidas y Leao fue muy bien marcado.
La segunda mitad estuvo un poco más reñida y era de esperarse, ya que el Milan buscaba diligentemente el empate, sumado a eso el ánimo de los hinchas también preparaban el escenario para que ocurriera la paridad en el marcador, sin embargo, eso no fue posible, la Roma como indique al inicio se defendió muy bien y por momentos estuvo muy cerca de anotar el segundo, incluso más que el Milan de empatar.

Eliminatoria abierta
A pesar de que la Roma tiene la ventaja considero que la eliminatoria está muy cerrada, recordemos que no hay gol de visitante, así que en el global solo hay un gol de diferencia, y en la vuelta estoy seguro de que puede ser una ventaja “fácilmente” remontable, donde el Milan tiene muchas posibilidades de igualar. La ventaja que tiene la Roma es su buena defensa. Son un equipo que actualmente está muy sólido en cada una de sus líneas, y últimamente sus rivales no han podido marcarle.
El Milan con su buen juego, intentará anotar temprano; de eso no hay duda, pero Pioli debe considerar hacer algunos cambios en su alineación titular. Hoy los suplentes dieron señales de cómo vulnerar el muro del equipo de la capital, así que ya veremos cómo afrontan los rossoneri ese partido.

Roma take the lead
The good play of the team from the capital came to the fore today, the Rossoneri could not decipher the wall that De Rossi put up defensively, but don't get me wrong, Roma did not play a defensive game at any time, in fact they were very consistent with their current style, which is based on a fast attack on the wings with long possessions in the middle of the field.

The goal came in the first half through a header by Mancini, who outwitted the Rossoneri defense to get free on a corner kick and score with ease, in fact everyone remained static without doing anything, neither the defenders nor Mike Maignan in goal could prevent the Italian from scoring with ease.
I must confess that I was a little surprised to see La Lobo going into the break with an advantage, I expected a more vertical Milan where they would overwhelm their opponent, but it was not like that, neither Leao nor Theo Hernandez who are the offensive engines of the Rossoneri could enter the game, Theo could not neglect El Shaarawy who attacked on that side, which made it difficult for him to go up and Leao was very well marked.
The second half was a bit closer and it was to be expected, as Milan was diligently looking for the equalizer, added to that the mood of the fans also set the stage for parity on the scoreboard, however, that was not possible, Roma as I said at the beginning defended very well and at times was very close to score the second, even more than Milan to tie.

The advantage that Roma have is their good defense. They are a team that is currently very solid in each of their lines, and lately their opponents have not been able to score against them.
Milan, with their good game, will try to score early; there is no doubt about that, but Pioli should consider making some changes to his starting lineup. Today the substitutes showed signs of how to breach the wall of the team from the capital, so we'll see how the Rossoneri will face that match.
