Anoche mientras hacía un gran esfuerzo para no dormirme en el entretiempo del partido que estaban disputando México y Venezuela, a propósito, mis felicitaciones a la Vinotinto y a todos los hermanos venezolanos que están extremadamente contentos y emocionados por la actualidad futbolística de su selección nacional. Merecido premio a un gran esfuerzo.
Volviendo al tema, decía que mientras esperaba para ver el segundo tiempo y un rato antes también, estuve mirando Twitter, hasta realizamos un par de comentarios relacionados y cruzados con @dimeilaz quien estaba sufriendo un poco en el peor momento cuando los tricolores dominaban casi a voluntad y en un remate solitario de Venezuela se estrelló la pelota en el poste privándolo de una ventaja que podría haber cambiado el rumbo del encuentro.
Prometo que ahora si voy a lo que deseo expresar. Navegando por twitter entonces vi algunas publicaciones de aficionados mexicanos totalmente en contra de la selección de mi país, mencionando que no tiene sentido jugar porque el torneo está arreglado en favor de la albiceleste, que tal debió ser expulsado, que hubo penal no sancionado a favor de Chile, que el gol fue en offside, que todos los mundiales ganados por Argentina fueron mal habidos o apañados y no se cuanta sarta de raciones de odio adicionales. Sinceramente me dolió, no tanto por lo parcial y malintencionado de las apreciaciones sino por el odio que esos aficionados muestran hacia nosotros. No entiendo que mal le hemos hecho para merecer ese ataque.
De todas maneras, nosotros no somos ángeles, basta recordar que tan solo un par de semanas atrás, nuestro corredor en la IndyCar, Agustín Canapino, fue licenciado por una carrera por apoyar, en parte, los mensajes de odio que algunos aficionados simpatizantes del Titán de Arrecifes lanzaron contra Theo Purchaire por haberlo chocado en una maniobra bastante temeraria y que le provocó que no pudiera concretar en la posición final la gran carrera que venía desarrollando.
Así como en esa demostración de patriotismo exacerbado, hubo otras y no solo de argentinos sino, lamentablemente, de muchos aficionados de todos los países del mundo, inclusive de personas más preparadas a los avatares del deporte y sus resultados, como un técnico de uno de los equipos que se encuentran disputando la Eurocopa, que despotricó contra un árbitro sudamericano (argentino) porque se sintió perjudicado y le endilgó la culpa total del supuesto error, sin mencionar que el encargado del VAR que no convalidó el penal, era europeo.
El odio y el racismo continúan a la orden del día, pese a los supuestos buenos esfuerzos que realizan las autoridades deportivas que rigen los destinos de los diferentes deportes a lo largo y ancho del mundo.
En general son los aficionados potenciados por las redes sociales que demuestran sin tapujos que este problema está muy lejos de resolverse, aunque como mencioné antes, cada tanto algún integrante de la comunidad deportiva, sean jugadores, directores técnicos, dirigentes y hasta periodistas, muestran en público sus pensamientos privados; ya he hablado en otras oportunidades de esto y continuaré haciéndolo mientras el odio continúe ganándole a la razón y quizás algún día entendamos que, pese al color de la piel, de la camiseta, a la religión que profesemos o a la cultura que pertenezcamos, todos merecemos tratar y ser tratados como iguales.
Los seres humanos somos jodidos, el deporte es tan lindo que no podemos con nuestro genio y buscamos la manera de arruinarlo.

Honestly, it hurt me, not so much because of the partial and malicious assessments but because of the hatred that those fans show towards us. I don't understand what wrong we have done to him to deserve that attack.
In any case, we are not angels, just remember that just a couple of weeks ago, our IndyCar driver, Agustín Canapino, was banned from a race for supporting, in part, the messages of hate that some fans who sympathize with the Titan of Arrecifes attacked Theo Purchaire for colliding with him in a rather reckless maneuver and which caused him to not be able to achieve the great race he had been developing in the final position.
Just as in that demonstration of exacerbated patriotism, there were others and not only from Argentines but, unfortunately, from many fans from all countries in the world, including people more prepared for the vicissitudes of sport and its results, such as a coach from one of the teams that are competing in the Euro Cup, who ranted against a South American referee (Argentine) because he felt harmed and blamed him entirely for the supposed error, without mentioning that the person in charge of the VAR who did not validate the penalty was European.
Hate and racism continue to be the order of the day, despite the supposed good efforts made by the sports authorities that govern the destinies of different sports throughout the world.
In general, it is the fans empowered by social networks who openly demonstrate that this problem is very far from being resolved. However, as I mentioned before, from time to time some members of the sports community, be they players, technical directors, leaders, and even journalists, show in public their private thoughts; I have already spoken about this on other occasions and I will continue to do so as long as hate continues to win over reason and perhaps one day we will understand that, despite the color of our skin, our shirt, the religion we profess or the culture we belong to, we all deserve to treat and be treated as equals.
Human beings are screwed, sport is so beautiful that we can't handle our genius and we look for a way to ruin it.
