It's already two years since I hit that publish button?! 🥹✨
My hive birthday came to mind when Hivebuzz left a comment on my post. It got me thinking about how far I've come, so I looked to see how much progress I’ve made. Checking my Hive Power right now, it feels great to see it’s already 1,683! When I hit my first year on Hive, I only had 863!
I'm currently delegating some of my Hive Power to these accounts. I have gained 237 followers along the way and made countless friends. Not only that, I also earned the Bro Hodler and Referrer badges.
Instead of doing the usual hive birthday post like reflecting on what I've done the past year and reflecting on my achievements and growth, I thought, why not reintroduce myself?
When I read my introduction post again, the thought of reintroducing myself every year came to mind. Being an all-around newbie, I see life as a journey where my interests and passions change as I grow.
This blog has been a space for me to explore and share different aspects of my life. But, like everyone else, I grow and change over time.
I believe that the unpredictable nature of life is what makes it so exciting. Do you agree? Who knows? By this time next year, I could be writing about motherhood or pursuing a completely new hobby.
I want this blog to be a reflection of who I am in the present, with all my ever-changing interests and experiences. While it is important to reflect on the past, it is also important to embrace the present and live in the moment. I want to get to know myself better each year, and I hope my blog helps you do the same.
By the way, to celebrate my 2nd year here on Hive, I'll be giving away 2 HSBI each to the first 5 commenters with an ice cream emoji/gif in their comments. Why ice cream? I'm craving it as I type this 😂
So, allow me to reintroduce myself.
Hola! It’s Cthings here, or C as you might know me. Since starting this blog, a lot has changed, and I’m excited to update you on my journey as the all-around newbie!
Speaking of changes, last year, I made a career change, and since then, I have been going out frequently and embracing new experiences. I used to work as an English teacher and editor for a foreign publishing company.
My priorities have shifted as I’ve grown older. My life is no longer centered around my diploma. Currently, I view it as my safety net and rely on it for security. Now, I’m working remotely in the editorial department, but with a different area of expertise I’m not familiar with a year ago. It’s been quite a journey, and I’m happy I took the risk 🫶🏼
I've lost some important people recently, which made me realize how short life can be. Expect some heartfelt posts about my life’s ups and downs. Traveling and new experiences have become more important to me, as well as spending time with my partner, family, friends, and even pets. Yes, pets! I’ve got two adorable dogs now (a JRT and a Shih Tzu) and I’m so excited to tell you all how they’ve changed my life (and my finances, lol).
I'm still into cafe hopping, but I've started limiting myself to just one coffee per day. That's an achievement! Gaming and binge-watching movies and series are still part of my routine. Books still hold a special place in my heart, but lately, I’ve found myself in a reading slump that I’m hopeful will pass soon.
I recently played It Takes Two on PS4 and explored some new board games, which I’ll be blogging about soon. Regarding series, I just watched The Worst Roommate Ever and found it disturbing and fascinating at the same time. My passion for theater remains, and my recent experience was attending the Parokya ni Edgar musical. I'm also expanding my tastebuds. It's been an adventure, and I'm excited to share more about it in my future blogs.
Even though my interests evolve, my love for discovering and sharing new things remains constant. I hope you stick around as I keep trying new things.
If anything I’ve written speaks to your interests, I hope you’ll continue reading my blogs.
Until next time!
