Hey there my Hive friends and followers!
I achieved another long awaited curation milestone yesterday and that inspired me to write this post where I will tell you more not just about the milestone but also about some updates on my recent curation efforts and I will also share a little personal decision with you that I decided to make and that will, hopefully, be another step towards being a better member of this amazing community that we are building here on Hive.
So what was that milestone about? You know I love numbers and I was really excited to see my all time curation rewards hit 15,000 Hive yesterday. I took this screenshot right after it happened :)
As for the updates on my recent curation efforts, there are actually more numbers that I would like to mention here. Just as I expected and as I mentioned in this post some time ago, quitting my Saturday upvote giveaway series gave me more time curate in the communities and tags that I´m interested in so in fact, my overall curation activity has increased. I have been watching my stats at HiveTasks for years and as of late, on average, I have been hovering between 400 and 500 upvotes given to some 200 - 250 different accounts every week.
You may know that I´m not a part of any curation trail and I have also reduced my autovote list so I can proudly say that a (vast) majority of those votes coming from my account every week are actually manual votes.
Now talking about the curation stats, there is another number that I have been working on and that´s the percentage of self-voting. I have been lately keeping this number at just around 2%, which I think is acceptable by the community.
However, I have been thinking about it a lot lately and I decided to stop self-voting completely. I do think that a reasonable self-voting is something that most people here on Hive are ok with though. It actually should be like that if we want to introduce Hive to the masses. I mean if we only allow the "perfect people" here, we will never make it really big because, let´s face it, most of the people out there are not perfect. We are not perfect either. Nobody is perfect and self-voting may be one of the signs of not being perfect. I have nothing against it (at a reasonable level of course) and I will definitely not blame anyone for sticking to it but I, just for myself, decided to stop doing this completely and join the 0% self-voters club, starting from now so this will be the first post that I will not self-vote :) I just hope I will not break this resolution unknowingly, out of habit, but I will hold myself accountable and you can too :)
So yeah, these were some updates on my curation activities here on Hive. Thank you for your attention guys and thank you for creating interesting, original and AI-free content on our blockchain, it´s a pleasure and honor to curate it.
