Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
Now known as the Unit Review Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
A New Season of Reviews - A Challenge accepted!
The nefarious trio of World Eaters, Death Guard and Thousand Sons are set to get their new Codexes next. Actually, the great FOUR are each getting their favourite Legion's new Codexes but Emperor's Children did not have an actual Index before.
Anyway. I was speaking to my friend @nicolaasmuller about how my Review posts might not make a lot of money for me, but that cumulatively and on average some of them do good and overall there is an average that at least means that there is good movement of income into the Hobby Fund and that it would grow from there.
We were throwing around some numbers and looking at the average of my last 10 Review Posts, 20 Review posts and 30 Review Posts and we could come up with a range of how much I should theoretically be making across a large sample size of completing the remainder of the reviews for the nefarious trio mentioned above.
So Nicolaas says to me something along the lines of: That would be pretty cool if you could do it in like, a month. Maybe do like 2 a day.
So I explained it would be a little bit more than that but sure... it would be cool... is that a challenge? And yeah... here I am... Challenge accepted. 😎
It is now Day 3 of the Challenge. I am a little behind but I needed to prepare. This is the 3rd post of that Challenge!
Totals so far: 3/70 Datasheets done, 0/3 Army Rules done, 0/6 Detachment Rules done. Total 3/79.
Time elapsed: 10%
Progress completed: 3.79%
Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!
This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.
After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out. This is all about to change as I had to cough up money from personal cash to the groom and now have real life bills that cannot wait. I will need to use some of my fund to recompensate myself.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
The total remaining is $468!
Every bit counts!
Back to the review.
The whole project has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
625 days since the start of 10th Edition. (somehow I got this wrong yesterday... oh well)
This is Review #257, I am 368 reviews behind! (Lowest I have been is 314 behind)
Thousand Sons, Exalted Sorcerer on Disc of Tzeetch
10th Edition Index
Something that all three of the World Eater, Death Guard and now Thousand Sons reviews have done is to make me reference to the Army Rules that I have not even Reviewed yet.
I will take that as a sign and review them shortly...
This Exalted Sorcerer flies around on a hoverboard called a Disc of Tzeetch. I know that they are all skaters in the Warp while the other Legions are not looking!
I would recommend someone calling their Exalted Sorcerer "Tony Squawks" because of the bird theme with Tzeetch Daemons and Champions who have been blessed by the God of Mutations and Magic.
Despite being on a Disc and being able to fly 12" a turn he can only lead Rubric Marines who move 6" a turn.
This model costs 115pts to field and you buy them in a kit of 3 characters for $62.50 so about $20.83 each.
Let's check his stats.
Stats
Movement 12"
Toughness 4
Save 3+/4++ (armor/invul/Feel No Pain)

Abilities
Cabal of Sorcerers 2 - This model ads 2 Cabal Points to your pool every turn.
Arcane Shield (Psychic)
While this model is leading a unit, models in that unit have a 4+ Invul save.
Binding Tendrils (Psychic)
In your Shooting Phase, choose 1 target that was hit by this model's Arcane Blast, excluding Monsters and Vehicles. Until the start of your next turn, the enemy unit is pinned. While that unit is pinned, subtract 2 from its Move characteristic and subtract 2 from Charge rolls they make.
Thoughts
Imagine using Binding Tendrils on a M4" Death Guard Terminator unit... Brutal!
Invuls for his unit, debuffs for his targets' mobility and decent damage dealing ability.
Honestly a very good unit.
That makes 5 Thousand Sons Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 17.85% Completed. The total Completed is 28.05% Complete! Can I review them all?!
