Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!

Now known as the Unit Review Library!

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!

Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.

I should have started when 10th edition launched!
416 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #104, I am 312 reviews behind!

Picking them randomly, let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:

Adeptus Mechanicus, Technoarcheologist

10th Edition Codex

Aha! The Tech-priests of Mars. This army has quite a few different Magos characters of different ranks. I do not know too much about this particular unit... so let's see what he can do!

This guy costs a mere 45pts to field in a battle, the model costs $35!

Let's look at those stats!

Stats

Movement 6"
Toughness 4
Save 3+/5++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 3
Ld 7+
OC 1

Those stats shows me that his quite enhanced compared to a baseline human.

Weapons

Ranged:

Mechanicus pistol
Range 12", 1 Attack, Hitting on 4+, S6, Ap -1, D1 Damage each
Pistol (Can shoot with this weapon while in engagement range of enemy models, close combat)
Devastating Wounds (6's to Wound cause mortal wounds that cannot be saved)

Melee:

Servo-arc claw
3 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S8 Ap -2, 2 Damage each
Devastating Wounds (6's to Wound cause mortal wounds that cannot be saved)
Anti-Vehicle 4+ (A 4+ to Wound counts as a Critical and therefore the same as a natural 6, then he would trigger Devastating Wounds on a 4+ against Vehicle units.)

Abilities

Seekers of Divine Arcana

While leading a unit, models in that unit gain +1 OC. This makes units better at taking control of Objectives.

Cogitative Instincts

Enemy Reinforcements cannot be set up within 12" of this model.

Thoughts

Both of these abilities are all about taking control of objectives and keeping reinforcements away from him. This means that naturally this character is to be attached to units, not to give them better fighting ability but to ensure that you can control a section of a board better.

Other that that the Servo-arc claw is quite nasty against a Vehicle!

That makes 8 Adeptus Mechanicus Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 26.66% Completed! The total Completed is 10.71% Complete! Can I review them all?!

Thank you for reading!

💪💪💪 Hell yeah! Another one!

I am very quizzed by this franchise, I am a big cyberpunk fan, but I can't seem to place this art style. Is somewhere between Steampunk and Spacepunk. Is funny how futuristic but also old it looks.

You should look at all the factions of this setting though: https://www.warhammer.com/en-US/warhammer-40000-lp

You get anime-style mecca with the T'au, Space Marines in Power armor, crude and brutish technology of the Orks and a Cyber-Egyptian look with the Necrons. There is so much variety in 40k!

The Technoarcheologist's abilities seem perfect for controlling objectives and disrupting enemy plans. Good review brother
