They are not the same...
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
Now known as the Unit Review Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
427 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #115, I am 312 reviews behind!
Not picking randomly at the moment, need to finish Imperial Agents and Deathwatch before they change as explained Here
Imperial Agents, Inquisitor
10th Edition Index
The Imperial Inquisition is a difficult, complex and dangerous organisation. They are divided into three Main Ordos who are represented in the tabletop game and then, beyond that, in the lore, there are other sub-factions within the Inquisition.
For each Ordos, there are also Puritan Inquisitors who are severely opposed to the powers they face and there are Radical Inquisitors who are the manic and unorthodox at the least and range to individuals who seek to use the weapons of the enemy against the enemy. Some of those become corrupt while the rest are misunderstood.
This often makes for strife and fighting within the Inquisition common.
The Inquisitors come from the following Ordos:
Ordo Mallues: Daemon Hunters
Ordo Hereticus: Witch Hunters
Ordo Xenos: Alien Hunters
This Datasheet is meant to allow you to play any of those three variants, but I suspect that the new Codex will have something more specific for each of these Ordos.
An Inquisitor is 55pts to field. They are currently removed from Warhammer.com's store since they are likely going to release a new kit for them in the new Codex.
Generally you can look at $45 for a Character unit.
Let's start with their base stats.
Stats
Movement 6"
Toughness 3
Save 4+/5++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 4
Ld 6+
OC 1
Weapons
The Inquisitor starts out with weapons to represent a typical Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor or low level Inquisitor from any Ordo:
Bolt Pistol, Inquisitorial Melee Weapons and Blessed Wardings.
The Bolt Pistol may be replaced with a Combi-Weapon. More a Ordo Xenos vibe.
The Blessed Wardings can be replaced with psychic gifts and Psychic Shock Wave.
If he has psychic gifts(which makes him a psyker), then he can change the Inquisitorial Melee Weapons with a Force Weapon.
Ranged:
Bolt Pistol
Range 12", 1 Attack, Hitting on 3+, S4, Ap 0, 1 Damage each
Combi-Weapon
Range 24", 1 Attack, Hitting on 3+, S4, Ap -2, 1 Damage each
Rapid Fire 1 (Get 1 Additional attack at half range of 12")
Devastating Wounds (Critical Wounds, rolling a 6 to Wound, cause Mortal Wounds)
Anti-Infantry 4+ (Causes Critical Wounds against Infantry on a 4+ and thus triggers Devastating Wounds.)
Psychic Shock Wave.
Range 18", 2D6 Attacks, Hitting Automatically, S3, Ap -1, 1 Damage each
Devastating Wounds (Critical Wounds, rolling a 6 to Wound, cause Mortal Wounds)
Torrent (Roll for the amount of attacks, they automatically hit)
Melee:
Inquisitorial melee weapon
5 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S4, Ap -2, 1 Damage each
Force weapon
4 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S5, Ap -2, D3 Damage each
Psychic (This weapon has the Psychic keyword)
Abilities
Power of the Rosette
When you target this model's unit with a Stratagem, roll a D6, on a 3+ you gain 1CP.
We call this CP refunding since he needs to be the one that must use the Strat.
Authority of the Inquisition
While leading a unit, this model and his Bodyguard and embark on any transport.
It is now that is also good to note that Inquisitors can either lead Inquisitorial Henchmen units or ANY Imperial Battleline Infantry unit. This means Astra Militarum Platoons or Space Marine Intercessors, if they are Imperial and Battleline, he can join them.
Wargear Abilities
Blessed Wardings
While leading a unit, this model's unit has a 5+ Feel No Pain against Mortal Wounds.
Thoughts
I love these guys for my Eternal Carnage games. I play 2x Psychic ones the S3 ranged attack is actually great because 2D6 attacks is an average of 7, but it can cause Devastating Wounds!
It makes for a rather surprising source of damage.
That makes 7 Imperial Agents Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 41.17% Completed! The total Completed is 11.84% Complete! Can I review them all?!
Thank you for reading!
