Hello to the beautiful and great people of the #jewelry community. I hope everything is going well with you, your family, and your business this weekend. It's almost the month we the Igbo tribe in Nigeria used to celebrate the yam festival and to be honest, during this period I used to make a tendril for any lucky close friend in order to celebrate with the person. It's not as if the tendril used to be all that colorful in quality and every other thing, but I know it is only meant as a festival gift and nothing more. By the time I'll be done giving you some details concerning why I'm making the tendril below, I'll be living you with the complete materials and the procedures I followed to make the tendril.
At the end of February and March of every year, we the entire Igbos used to cultivate and plant yam very well. Between the month of June, July, and August we'll be harvesting them. Before the harvesting of yam in Igbo land, we used to do some cultural things that we lead to the celebration of the yam festival. Every Igbo state in Nigeria with its local government and villages has a special day for their yam festival.
As an Igbo man, I used to celebrate Yam festival with my people despite where I may be at the moment but it's very important for me to make any kind of gift to present to anyone of my choice whether the person has done anything for me I'm life or not but the love of the yam festival will always take the lead. I made the tendril just to gift to anyone of my choice in regard to the entire Igbo yam festival celebration.
After I finished making the tendril, I was just searching and looking for someone I'll gift the tendril to until when a girl who was regarded as the overall West African Examination Council (WAEC) within my village passed by. I called her attention, congratulated her, and then encouraged her to do more as she's looking forward to going to the University. I then gave her the tendril by telling her it was a gift I'm giving to her as we the entire Igbos in Nigeria are in the season of yam festival celebration. She was very excited and left.
Materials that I considered for the making of the tendril will be highlighted below:
Nylon line.
24 pieces of gold color pearl bead while 12 parts will be used for the making of each side of the tendril.
8 pieces of blue color pearl bead while 4 parts will be used for the making of each side of the tendril.
8 pieces of red pearl bead while 4 parts will be used for the making of each side of the tendril.
Cutter.
Earring hook.
Bead stopper.
Procedures that I do consider for the making of the tendril will also be followed below:
I cut a nylon line out from its original row and then inserted 1 piece of blue color pearl bead. I then made the bead to be at the center of the nylon line.
I now inserted 1 piece of gold color pearl bead, 1 piece of red color pearl bead, 1 piece of gold color pearl bead, and 1 piece of blue color pearl bead to the left of the nylon line. I also inserted 1 piece of gold color pearl bead, 1 piece of red color pearl bead, and 1 piece of gold color pearl bead to the right of the nylon line. I inserted the left nylon into the right nylon line blue pearl bead and then draw the two lines.
I also inserted 1 piece of gold color pearl bead, 1 piece of red color pearl bead, 1 piece of gold color pearl bead, and 1 piece of blue color pearl bead to the left of the nylon line. I inserted 1 piece of gold color pearl bead, 1 piece of red color pearl bead, and 1 piece of gold color pearl bead to the right nylon line. I now inserted the right nylon line into the left nylon line blue pearl bead.
I now inserted 2 pieces of gold color pearl beads to the left line and inserted another 2 pieces of gold color pearl beads to the right nylon line. I now joined both nylon lines and inserted 1 piece of blue color pearl bead.
I now inserted the earring hook into the left nylon line and then use the right nylon line to tie it. I still have to use a bead stopper by using a plier to luck the earring hook well.
